The one on the 996 mounts very much like the Monster.

The ears are ~4 3/4" apart and they use an insulator like the ones on an SBK exhaust as opposed to the rubber peg like a 2V monster.

so instead if a 749 oil cooler a 996 oil cooler will fit 'easier'? just need to get the covers and lines? or something else?

I honestly cant say. The 996 cooler has a separate line that runs to the heads I think. That would need to be plugged for your 620. You would need to measure a 2V cover to see if it would work.

I don't know what the dimensions are on the 2V cooler mounts.

this one happens to be a 2002, so looks like I'm in luck.  Need to see if they'll include all the necessary bits.  For $100, it seems like a good deal.
My fast lap is your sighting lap.

But then why the M1000 mounts above and the M620 under?, don't like it there...that's why I like the SBK/S4R look...

You don't like it high...or low?

You could always make a bracket to mount it wherever you want.

The SBK has the cooler low...radiator high.

You can have hoses made. You just need a supplier that has AN-6 fittings.

I believe the ST would use the same cooler as an SBK mounted low.

but, i do like the sbk look of the cooler...and the fittings, male/female for engine and female for cooler? right?

i can always get a belly pan for cosmetics reasons but, if it's too much hassle[me being down here and not to thrustworthy machinists around] then i'll got the 'oem' way but mod to m1000 looks. above...if it's rectangular goes up, trapezoidal, down...

I'd have to check on the fittings on the cooler.

The coolers on the old/748-996 SBKs are rectangular.

I am totally confused here... carlos, are you trying to mount a 2V cooler to the lower valve cover of your bike (4V "look" mounting)?

or mount a 4V cooler (low, like the 4V bikes)?

ah... gotcha.

making spacers from cooler to cover will most likely be the only "problem" if the widths are different... fittings and line are pretty easy to come by.

a cover from a carby 750 or 900 should probably bolt right up on the bottom of the head

OK guys, I made the purchase, a S4Rs oil cooler but no lines.

Parts needed? Need list in order to purchase what's needed.

Hoses? S4R/s/T hoses or pre-assembled kit for 2v or 4V or just purchase OEM M620? No reliable hose assembler locally so need to purchase.

Thinking of manufacturing bracket so that cooler is in an 'in between' position, not so high not so low.

Thanks

If you use the cooler in the stock location you should be able to use stock 2V lines...I think.

If you move it all bets are off.

my idea is to install it in an 'in between' location; M620 install low, M1000 hi, in between ... but, what parts do i need?
only got cooler in good condition, hoses are toast ... it's from a S4Rs
