Installed Leo Vince slip-on tonight, but...

My Leo Vince exhaust was delivered today. So like any self-respecting gearhead would do, I canceled my after work plans, went straight home and installed my new can. The sound is exactly the way I like sport twins to sound. It's deep and thumpy to the point where you can almost hear the individual cylinders fire. The best part is that it doesn't sound like a mini-tractor anymore.

The fit leaves a lot to be desired though. The pic below is from my phone (sorry about the quality). But you can kinda see that the muffler is making contact with the beer tray where the turn signal meets it. It actually puts upward pressure to the point where the right blinker now sits a little higher than the left.

Anyone have ideas on what I can modify to make this fit a little better?

Are you using the mounting brackets from the OEM pipes?  Did this setup come with it's own mounting bracket?  How about a pic of the mounting bracket?

Here's a side shot. I used the strap that came w/ the slip-on. Everything assembled reasonably easily when I had the tail off (I took it off to make working the muffler onto the 2-into-1 header tube a little easier). The fit obviously wasn't OEM but nothing aftermarket ever is. I slipped the muffler as far into the exhaust tube as possible and made sure it was fully seated.

I may take it apart again tonight to see if it might work by cutting down the exhaust tube a bit. But if anyone has ideas, I'm all ears.

Tail chop will solve it.

Maybe try adjusting the fit a bit.  Loosen the bolts.  Move things around and retighten.  Maybe even drill a couple of holes in a short flat piece of metal between the exhaust strap and the OEM mount point to lower the can a bit.

My Termi Highmounts came with metal brackets that bolted under the backend of the frame near the seat lock (top pic).
I later changed to carbon fiber mounting bracket that looped over the frame and under the seat.  It lowered the pipes a bit but also tucked them in closer under the seat (bottom pic).

If you don't want to do the full tail chop - there are a couple options.

Chop the tail for sure. Get a "Cookie" tail chop kit and you will be set. Here is mine with the chop...I would not suggest cutting or bending the header tubes or the can. If you need a bit of clearance then i suggest you slot the hole in the strap mount that holds the can and you could lower it a tad for a better angle.

Update: I ended up cutting about a 1 3/4" from the exhaust tube and the muffler's end cap clears the turn signal now. I tried repositioning the mounting points for about an hour and finally gave up. I forgot to snap a pic after it was done but it definitely looks better now. The only thing is that the spring that Leo Vince includes is too long so I'll have to find a shorter spring (probably something for a dirt bike will work).

Hey Alien, I notice you took out the reducer. How much louder would you say it is compared to having it in? Assuming you ever rode it with the reducer that is. It's not nearly as loud as I thought it'd be and am now thinking I might try taking it out.

If you need custom stainless swivel springs I can get them for you. I can get diameters from 7mm, 8mm, 10mm, 12mm  and lengths from 25,30,35,40mm they are about $6.25 for any of those sizes. We in the hardware world have access to weird stuff like this
