If you think a couple of days wages is worth more than a couple of days riding up the coast I suggest you do that calculation over again.

4 stitches and a cut tendon on Sunday. On Wednesday the doc had me in this big splint that pretty much keeps me from using my left hand.

I really was tempted to take some crappy cell phone pics before they took out the stitches but opted not to.  It's got this sticky, stretchy bandage on it now that I can't take off w/o cutting it and I don't have any replacement. If you're looking at your left hand palm up, the cut goes from the left top of the first joint to the mid right on the side of the finger along the joint. I think it was actually 5 stitches but what's one stitch among friends.  At that joint there are 3 tendons: 1 main one that goes the whole length of the finger and 2 smaller ones that only go from the base to the 2nd joint. I totally cut through a small tendon and might have knicked the main one.

Eh, that's cause I didn't say.  I was taking a plate of food out of the microwave w/ my left hand and putting a bowl of food in w/ my right hand. Somehow the two made contact and the plate shattered. Didn't know the plate was glass.  Surprisingly little blood loss at the time. Partially cut a nerve too. Can't feel the very tip of my finger.
