i saw that.

notice how gently he pushes the mirror.

i can do the same thing with my CRG's -- if i loosen the ball clamp bolt.  look at the pics.  you only have two bolts clamping the thing on your bar.  one of them is the ball clamp bolt!  which one you gonna loosen?

but they will fall off.  don't you worry.

I'll give them a shot and then let you know!  [thumbsup] I'm tired of mickey on my bike..  [bang]

I don't know if anyone has noticed, but he is selling TWO different kinds of mirrors.

Check out the differences in how the glass is secured, how the arm attaches to the mirror etc. The ones for $44.95 have a nicer overall appearance IMO.

I'll be getting a set myself, I think. I've worked out how to mount them to STOCK S4 handlebars - which are threaded i.e. only have a hole 8mm in diameter.

Mind you, I'm in Oz. I'm not paying $35 for postage - I'll get them shipped to someone in the US, & then to here.  [thumbsup]

I just bought a set of the "similar" bar end mirrors from ebayer MOTO-DELUXE...  They arrived two days after purchase... Look awesome, installed easy, "appear" to be well made, and didn't move an inch down the interstate... Couldn't have asked for more with the $44.95 price tag.   +1
Turn it off man, turn it off!  It's sucking my will to live!

This is nice to hear as I just bought them the other day too, but am still waiting for mine to arrive.

Pah! Can't believe my mirrors got here first - I'm in OZ.

Anyway, I took a chance, & purchased the $45 mirrors from Moto Delux on ebay (http://stores.ebay.com/Moto-Delux).

I am very pleased to report that mirrors work very well indeed - visibility is much better than with the stock mirrors. The glass quality is excellent too, and the overall finish is very nice. The ebay transaction was painless, the mirrors arrived exactly 5 days later as promised.

My initial plan for mounting the mirrors was flawed... but I'm pleased to report that the bolt which secures the collet to the mirrors is the SAME diameter as the bolt that holds the bar ends in place: in short, I just bolted them on.

In the photo, you'll notice my paranoia knows no bounds - I've wired the mirrors. I'll be blacking that out this weekend.

[thumbsup]

Got them on too!!

They are great! the only thing I had to do was to tighten the bolt that attaches to the moving mirror because they were pushed back every time I was on the highway or going fast. The wind pushed them back a little. Got resolve by tightening the bolt. Great buy !!!! Looks good!

how does that affect the moving of the ball mount?

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

Once you tighten it more, you are still able to move the mirror just fine. I haven't had to adjust them again.. but I can foresee that I will after a while.. no big deal really. For the price.. It couldn't be a better mirror.  [thumbsup]

so it's just a friction ball setup -- just like the stock mirrors on an SS.

that was my point originally -- they move but are not made to move up and down a lot like he had in his video, and certainly not to be loose enough to move much when you are riding.

the 900SS mirrors' fricton ball wears about after 4-5 years, sooner if you fold your mirrors for storage.

i am sure those mirrors are fine, i just don't like him selling them as folding mirrors -- they're not.

I see your point. I will probably wear them sooner as I fold them in my garage... I hope they last at least 1 year and I'll be happy.

if they start sagging, the trick is to take the mirror off and polish the ball with fine sandpaper and jeweler's paste.  that makes it good for another go-round.

I picked up a pair of these (or something very similar) at Cyclegear a few weeks ago for about $25. I don't particularly like that they're convex, but they do work well. When paired with the stock mirrors, it actually feels like I have some idea what is or isn't behind me.

I thought about using the stocks and these at the same time too.. but it looks too crowded..

What I don't like about the round mirrors is that things look way far than what they really are. Takes getting used to and bit of hesitation when lane splitting. The stock mirrors do provide a bigger area to see, but they just look funny.
