Did the mirror glass fall OUT.. or did the entire mirror unit (ball socket and all) fall off?  :-\

just the glass.  If the entire assembly fell out, I would have quietly and with great shame bought another pair.

I am considering glue for the glass on mine..

What do you do to substitute the bar end weights when you install these type of mirrors? These don't allow for bar ends.

I just used the internal mounts that came with it.  I didn't have any vibration issues.

How are you going to get the mirror out in order to glue it? And what glue are you going to use? I'm getting paranoid...   :-[

YOu must be paranoid... because they will fall out.. I will use agorex or any other glue that has a lot of body. The mirror will get off by pressing on one edge and with your fingernail lifting the opposite side. DO not go on another ride without doing this or you may regret it.. I almost did.  [thumbsup]

You can get the mirror off by loosening teh wallen-head screw and popping it off.  YOu can then glue it on with silicone adhesive/sealant which shoud cost you about $5 at Autozone.

D2Moto emailed me back asking for pics of the mirror.  I expect them to replace it, otherwise I'm contacting the customer service at Amazon.com for a refund, then I'm buying a replacement mirror for teh one that fell off.  Either way, I will glue the new mirror on.

Just an update on my mirros situation with D2Moto...

The cheap-o ones I bought from D2Moto through Amazon are being replaced for free.  Unfortunately, they do not have the black ones in stock, but they're selling the carbon fiber-looking ones for free.  The only thing I had to do was to send them some pics of the mirror  that had  the glass shake loose for confirmation.  If you're buying a pair, I'd recommend D2 Moto because they're among the cheapest and the service is pretty good.

Good to know they are doing you right on the mirror.

I might pick up a pair now, but I won't consider them "folders"   ;D

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

Get it from D2 Moto via Amazon.  They're cheap enough, and I think placing the order through the Amazon marketplace gives you more protection than eBay.  I received the replacement mirrors yesterday.  I did  not get the exact ones I had -- they were out of the black and they offered me teh CF-look ones as a replacement, and it the "carbon fiber" print does not lok realistic at all, but it doesn't really matter because I kept the old hoousing I had so I can easily switch out the mirror and get rid of the fake CF housing.

Sure, it was a bummer that the glass popped off, but they replaced it and for a pair that cost about $30, I can't complain.

I wanted something different and have these on my bike in black.  They are very beefy, don't vibrate, excellent visability, glass is nice with a blueish tint like the mercedes windows.  Well worth the money.....when I store the bike I just spin the mirrors inboard like the pic...outward for riding.
