I have looked, and looked, and looked! I cannot find a single bike that I like. I am not looking for anything special...Just a DSS 750-1000 in near perfect shape, in either dark or red. I have ads here, check Craigslist every hour, and call dealerships. WTF! Cry

u dont see a lot of 750s. so strike that out.

M1000 are hard to find.

900 is your best bet.

whats your price range? maybe thats the problem. have u tried craiglook.com?

lwzabo,

that might be your problem, bikes are ment to be riden, so, they might not be perfect and have some 'cosmetical' issues, but as long as mechanically speaking they speak Ducati, you're on the right road.  Maybe, just look for something, how can we say it, ready to run in either Dark or Red and start your bike from there.

price range is up to 6000, so it should be no problem. I have / had achance to buy back my first Ducati this weekend. (03 Monster 800 dark) from the guy I sold it to. the bike is perfect and has nice mods that I did when it was mine. he added a seat cowl and bar end mirrors which is cool. I sold it with 6000 miles for 6000. he wants 5400 with 16,000 miles. He will put on new tires and deliver for 5400. I know the bike kbb's for 4100 but I would be willing to pay more because of our history. He is firm on 5400, I want 4500 but would go 5000. the seller is a great guy no questions asked!

I screwed up big time 2 months ago. I had a guy willing to take $$off a 05 m1000 with tons of mods, low miles, and perfect. (He owns a dealership) we texted back and forth and he gave me a deal and I told him I would take it. then I thought and decided NO. A week later I called him and said lets do it he said OK and I didnt do it again. The bike is still for sale however he wont answer emails. (II DO NOT BLAME HIM!!!) I didnt have him hold it, I told him I would call the next day and pay in full with my credit card.  I backed out becuse i want dark and it was red. Undecided

Sounds like when you quit finding excuses to buy a bike, you'll finally get one.

If you're willing to get the bike shipped Beverly Hills Ducati has both a M900 DSS and a M1000DS DSS for sale. They are both in great condition. I live in SoCal and frequent the shop, and have tested both. Just a thought.

If you wait a few weeks I'm sure he will come down in price.  Lot's of people get confused about their vehicle's (car or motorcycle) worth.  Some people think they can get what the dealers ask, but that is simply not the case.`

Yup-been watching your search. Bike is always too far away or some such-not that it costs much to have a moto shipped. Just make the beast with two backsing do it already.

Fly out, rent a van, drive it back.

I was 23 hours from leaving the house to returning with the 999 last wed.  $450 including the plane ticket, rental van, gas, food.

A smidge cheaper than shipping, and I didn't have to wait for it/got to see/touch/taste it before I paid.
