I got a letter from GEICO

My motorcycle insurance went from 660/year to 480/year.

You might think this is a lot.

But that is full coverage for 4 bikes.  I have other bikes, but not covered for various reasons.

I put only about 8k miles on my bikes last year.

They dropped my insurance.

it's my age.  I know it.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

I keep getting older too, dammit! Unfortunately the insurance company hasn't offered to take less of my money yet.

I have like 3 discounts:

Multi vehicle
Home insurance
American Mensa

oh, and they also throw in a 5% off for using Bank of America for the auto payments.

Don't you remember someone telling you the older you got the lower your rates would be ?

It's finally happened !

I am 58 and pay 384 for 1 900 Monster.

Statistically we apprentice geezers are not helping the actuarial stats that feed the rate tables

When we go down on the road.. we often drag in secondary complications and conditions like heart attacks etc etc

that make the simple "set the bones and sew him up"  a lot more expensive than for an immortal 20 year old

we also are having more accidents as an age group....our eyes and reflexes are simply not what they were

but we tend to ride by memory of what we once WERE capable of...not what we currently ARE capable of

getting old sucks...the stats prove it

What? Smart people crash less? :o

I doubt it. I know alot of very clever people at work who have absolutely no common sense whatsoever.

I shudder to think what they'd be like on a bike/ Smooshed by big trucks probably

whats that phrase?

i think the rate advantage is that older guys ride less on a daily basis.  at least I do.  I can't go to work in a suit and can't go to court with a bunch of briefs on a bike.. :-/

American Mensa sound like some Discovery Channel show where a dad with a f'ed up mustache threaten to put his size 12 boot up his kids ass when the kid interjects Albert Einstein theory of relativity with the recipe for PEZ.
Gaspar, Melchior and Balthasar kicked me out of the band..... they said I didnt fit the image they were trying to project.

So I went solo.  -Me

You apprenticed years ago chiefy.

You're now a master  ;)
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.
