Looks like the light would play on the inside of the faceshield and create new problems.

Pretty sure those would A) Destroy night vision and B) Screw up your peripheral vision or both.

Bad idea (for the reasons above).

Additionally, I don't think they'll help cars see you during the day.  If you're concerned, get a solid yellow or white helmet (good daytime visibility) and put reflective material on it for night time.  And wear a bright yellow reflective vest.

Have you considered a disco helmet?

My Akuma has one inside - but you should NEVER ride with them lit. it's very useful when you're looking for your keys or need to see something in the dark while you're off your bike, but it could cause an accident if used while riding.

If I recall, when I got the helmet there were disclaimers galore about when not to use the LED.

It works great though - bright as the sun! For increased visability, it does have rear red lights worked in with the theme of the helmet. It's themed after an F-14 so they represent my afterburners!!  cheeky

I can see the problems mentioned with the positioning of the lights.  I like the Akuma above though ~

A reflective vest does wonders for visibility.

In Va, you can get pulled over for blue or red lights in the front since it mimics  Police lights.  At least that's what happened to a friend.

LOL - I took it when he wasn't looking!!! ...because "I have a need, a need, for speed!"

that helmet has to look badass when its foggy or misty out w/ the rear leds

It does! I've been told that the LED's in the back do help with visibility.

...I like the Akuma above though

Hey thanks! It's my favorite "themed" helmet to date. I've always been a fan of military themed gear. I started out with this one themed from a P-51 Mustang:

Anyway, back to the thread topic, I believe that it's illegal to ride with a front LED on as well.
