that 10/22 is sick by the way.. I want to build one to shoot .17hm2

Get a savage for the HMR though. best shooting rifle for the money and you can work the accutrigger down to almost nothing.

I have a 93R17 GV, with a cheepie 4-9x40 scope and worked over trigger and was able to shoot coke cans at about 200 yards and paint balls at 100..

My buddie has a 93R17 BVTS with the thumbhole stock. that thing shoots very well, under a inch at 100yards.

I also have a Walther G22 and a Marlin model 60.

How can there be a rifle thread without the big one?

Heres my AR-50BMG.

BOOM!  headshot!

I have a Winchester Model 1894 30-30 (circa 1970) that I absolutely love. I much prefer level actions to bolt action.

I also have a Mossberg Model 44US .22L (circa 1945) that is toooo fun for plinnking. It weighs close to 9lbs, so there is no kick.

I just inherited a Remington 03A3 30-06, which I have yet to shoot.

Love the S&W AR15, have only gotten to shoot a couple of bricks as it is my home boys, but he is wanting to get rid of in an effort to be more responsible so I am first in line, and he has it all tact-out with bi-pod, sights and lights. Pretty sweet.

I also have an old school replica of cowboy lever action in .357 that is a tac driver and fun to shoot! And not as expensive to shoot when I throw 38 through her.

That is one sweet 50 and a darn nice 10/22

My father has a nice Winchester 1886 lever action. . .45-70 government rounds, real manly big game cannon.

Just be aware, there are at least three different factory loadings for the .45-70 Government, and you can take a gun apart by firing the wrong load in the wrong gun!

There is a low-pressure load that is still produced for the old falling-block guns, there's a medium load for the lever actions like your dad's, and there's a full-house load intended only for modern bolt rifles.

You can't tell the loads apart just by looking at the loaded cartridges...you need to read the labeling on the cartridge box before you buy.

Good to know. He's had the same box of ammo for about 10 years, we've only shot it once in that time. It's more of an heirloom than a daily shooter, we don't even hunt big game so we have no use for it.

Found out today that I am being forced to spend next Thursday and Friday in a training class, being paid overtime, to get checked out with the MP5. I just hate work sometimes... :P

Heres my AR-50BMG.

The first time I shot one of those I decided that it should be changed to the AR-50BMFG ;D

I have a Bushmaster M4A3 with a Leatherwood M-600 scope.  I'll try and post a pic later.

That .22 is really sweet.

That 10/22 is a basic Ruger with lots of 'work', most of which you just add on:

Titanium Auto Bolt Release
BKL Unitized Scope Base/Rings
Mueller APV Scope with 3" Sunshade
ER Shaw Helical Fluted Bull Barrel (blued)
Bell & Carlsson Anschutz Style Stock
Lightly polished bolt
Extended Mag Release
Extended Bolt Handle
Volquartsen Extractor
Volquartsen "Stabilization Module" - Doesn't do a damn thing but look like a bad ass flash suppressor.
TEN22 Bolt Buffer
Some other things that didn't jump to mind.

Want a winter tinkering hobby besides the Monster? Buy a 10/22, and customize it to be yours. Its a lot of fun, my next will probably be a 10/22 converted to 17HM2. With more goodies. Its loads of fun and just as 'customizeable' as the Monster.

How is the S&W AR? Been shopping around for an AR and have been leaning towards the DPMS AR.  Also going to be building an AR, but just going to do that with parts I can score cheap, wanna see how cheap I can build one.

Had thoughts along the same lines, and found that DPMS might be worth steering clear of, based on info gleaned from AR15.com.  The RRA kit is a good one.  LMT makes great uppers and lowers.  There are many.  If buying a whole gun, I would probably go Colt.
