Ok, we have a 1911 thread... where's the love for the long guns?

Had to sell a load of the guns I had acquired a few years back, and now I'm working on building up my arsenal again.

Just picked this one a couple weeks ago.

Chinese SKS, all numbers matching, complete with cleaning kit in stock, cleaning rod, original bayonet and original sling.

Next project is another AR-15.  Currently in the process of finding parts to fit the Rock River lower that I acquired this past weekend.

m-44 in Da house!

I picked it up after a Bear ripped down our front door.  This is when I was living in Tahoe.  We got a tag that allowed us to shoot him next time.  I never had to use teh 7.62x54R m-44 on him, but he did get a shitload of 22lr in his ass whenever he came around after that.  It didn't keep him away, but it did keep him out of the house.

After the Bear incident, I got to really enjoy taking it to the range.  Nothing like lining up a 60 year old rifle and hitting your target a 100 yards away using iron sights and old Russian surplus ammo!

That describes my SKS, I bought it in '88. [thumbsup]

I also have the requisite Ruger 10/22 for plinking.

I love the SKS, I don't know why.  It's sort of the forgotten baby brother of the AK.

sort of.  there is little wrong with it, maybe the weight, but what can you expect from such an old gun.  Damn thing will fire everytime you pull the trigger.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

I've love my 10/22... great hooligan gun, especially with the 50shot clip!

Problem is, I left it with my dad for a little too long, having trouble getting it back from him.

Picked up a M44 this winter at a local pawn shop, but had to sell it to a friend of mine who felt he had to have it.  Good thing though, I'd rather pick up a 91/30.

Nope.  in all my research on it, I haven't seen one.

Was that more of a Russian thing?

Forget it, just did a search for it and found em.  with stripper clips and oil bottle for 19.00

I plan on saving the original stock with a little "bubba" work.

Ordered a Tapco Fusion stock, a couple 20 round clips and a holo sight.

How is the S&W AR? Been shopping around for an AR and have been leaning towards the DPMS AR.  Also going to be building an AR, but just going to do that with parts I can score cheap, wanna see how cheap I can build one.

That's easy. Just go to RRA's website and order the complete rifle kit. Has everything except for the lower. ;)

How can there be a rifle thread without the big one?

Heres my AR-50BMG.

I love the 10/22.

I want a 17HMR next, badly.

If pol. parties change this coming winter, I'll be getting an AR/AK though...

My father has a nice Winchester 1886 lever action. Made in the early 1890s (93 or 94). It's in amazing shape, still fires nicely. .45-70 government rounds, real manly big game cannon. It's blued with a dark stock and round barrel (vs octagon), not sure which model but it's bloody heavy. Keeps the recoil in check just by the heft of the frame.
