I've heard good stuff about Sun Devil Mfg, out of Arizone (I believe). You can get the stuff through Rainier Arms shipped to your FFL. Which is a damn hassle, I know.

Want a winter tinkering hobby besides the Monster? Buy a 10/22, and customize it to be yours. Its a lot of fun, my next will probably be a 10/22 converted to 17HM2. With more goodies. Its loads of fun and just as 'customizeable' as the Monster.

Amen to that- I've got mine from when I was a kid bangin around in my closet.  Well not BANGIN in the gun sense but, you know what I mean.  Anyhow... I've got it in my mind to convert it to one o' these:

Does anyone shoot M1 or M14's?

Lot of plastic and poodle guns around here...   :-\

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

If I was going to shoot an M1 (30-06, right?), I might as well work with my .270 since I hunt with that.

My Ideal Stable:
Barrett Model 82A1/M107
AR15 Tactical (Working on getting)
Ruger 10/22 Bull Barrel and dressed up a little!
Remington 700 or and MP5, probably the MP5

2000 M750 Dark(Black Betty); 88 FZR400

What's the MP5 shoot, Rodeo?  9-mm?  I would augment the .223 with something in 7.62/.308, for better stopping power.

I do like the PTR-91. Good point on the 308...

But for stopping power that is what the Barrett is for...  [evil]

Yeah, but a middle-distance gun is handy.  The Barrett is badass.

also for causing hernias.

lemme see you hump that through some brush with a box of ammo.

or elbow it under some barb wire fence.

50bmg is useful, but very limited utility overall.  99% of what most people can hit with a 50, I can hit with a 7.62 and be much happier getting there.

I was looking at getting an M14 for awhile but ended up getting a shotgun for some variety instead.  I really want to shoot them though and will probably end up getting one at some point.

Yeah, I still have the Benelli Nova 12ga pump also... but its nothing super special to write about. It works, perfect, like it should, but its nothing neato or unique.

this thread is about rifles, not smoothbores, shot, muskets or even firelocks.

Poop.  I don't own enough to further participate then. Maybe one day.  (Perhaps next Thursday)

Some of my toys (inside the safe):

I have an original Springfield M14/s "Bush" rifle, but it's boxed (recently moved stuff around)..  I'd post a pic if I find it soon.  IT is very sweet.

How many can you name?

and an AOW smoothbore I keep in the car:  (i had it in the house for cleaning)

Do you drive one of these ;)

Desmosedici - it's the new Paso (except the bodywork doesn't fit as well)
