Good luck! I hope you get it sorted. Would be a bummer have the bike crap out at this time.

Push started daytona in garage at work.... boo

Rode home...

lights and dash going dimmer and dimmer... boo boo

weird flashing of fuel light, check engine light and dimmer and dimmer... boo boo boo

died as I pulled up to my garage door... bang head

rode a very silent daytona down the garage ramps to my parking spot... bang head bang head

where I was reminded that the monster is being serviced... bang head bang head bang head

and the car is in TN... bang head bang head bang head bang head bang head bang head bang head

Hello metro... Cry

Sounds electrical, probably a dead battery if your rectifier isn't working.

Might want to look into getting a LiPo type battery (Shorai, Sycl, ...) and drop some weight from the bike ... to compensate for your fat @$$ cheeky laughingdp

His ass has significantly slimmed... um... not that I'm looking... um...

Yeah, it's the charging system that's shit the bed, I'd wager. Hopefully they can stick a new one in post haste

It's definitely the R/R...it's been under recall for a while. I stopped by the dealer a while back and they've ordered that part as well as the parts for the other recall work that needs to be done.

Unfortunately, I just got off the phone with them and the parts aren't in yet...

...complicated by the fact that the Monster is at Duc Pond for service...

...also called them to see if the Monster would be done...

...sadly, no...

...no track for me this weekend. Cry Cry

I know a guy with a Street Triple that may not need its rectifier this weekend. Should swap easily, no?

[edit]

I sent him an e-mail. I recall he replaced his and inquired whether or not the old one was any good and if he still had it. Fingers crossed.

Buy this: http://www.regulatorrectifier.com/catalog/2006-2009-Triumph-Daytona-675-Regulator-Rectifier-MOSFET

And do overnight shipping? Don't know what the cost of a new, OEM is but this can be done for ~$200.

Just a thought.

Just heard back from Chris. His rectifier failed last year on a trip and had it replaced by Cliff's (Richmond?). They had one in stock at that time so might be worth a phone call.

Sounds like he's on the road through the weekend, so no lawful way of borrowing the one off his bike. Ugh, it was worth a shot.

Stupid electrical stuff!

My new (to me) starter solenoid came in, but still waiting on the new wires. Then I'll find out if the starter smoked too.
