I remember seeing that bike on CL or maybe Fleabay before...I think last fall...it is NOT a stock scheme...it was repainted/modeled to mimic a Superlight SS...nice bike, but at the time I saw it, the guy was shmokin something good when he was asking nearly $6K for the bike.

congrats on the new to you purchase though!!!

6K ?!? Wow, well I got it for much less... it has a few issues, so I figured worse comes to worse, if it's a complete lemon (pun intended) I can always sell it for parts. That's not going to happen tho Wink

Ben, post some pics!

It's a little dirty for now.  I'm going to take it out for a quick check out ride and probably go down to Colemans in a bit.  Need to check the pressure in the tires as well.

But to hold you over...

A big orange truck dropped off something yellow at my hotel today.

Did the yellow thing arrive unscathed?

iirc, there were some choice bits on it...like the bike still seems to have the 916 style undertail exhaust with the pipes going up the right side...does it still have the FCR flatsides on it?....looks like it still has the cycle cat rearsets ( which I may still have a set of the passenger peg platforms from my trackbike that I took off in the same black if you need them)...what did you get the bike for, if you don't mind me asking...

So far this should be the complete list of extras: under tail exhaust, FCR carbs, rearsets (interested in the passenger pegs btw, my wife wants to have a ride), clipons, alu swingarm, ohlins rear shock, wave rear brake and tach.

Got it for $1800.

Issues so far are dirty carbs (cleaned), frayed wires (I'll have fun replacing them) and tired electrical system, some rust and dirt, rear master brake need replacing, not sure about front brakes, suspension is waaay too soft (feels like it was set up for the bike to ride by itself)... don't know what else, but I'll post! Wink

Very, very, very nice! I've had the pic of a black one as wallpaper for quite a while!

My partner in crime for that one's time is sucked up doing that site which is starting to pay. Might circle back around to it at some point.

Installed K&N pod filters.

They go well with the carbs Smiley

Tomorrow I'll have fun with the battery mount, I'm thinking of moving the batter to the front of the bike... this is going to be interesting.

you are probably going to want to turn the filters roughly 180 degrees for the tank to sit flush correctly without mushing them...just my experience what those filters on my stock carbs anyways...as far as moving the battery and the box with the coils and modules on it...you might be best to get one of those new fangled tiny batteries that MotoWheels and various other people are selling ( since THAT bike doesn't require as much juice as newer FI bikes and therefore it being a more efficient, IMHO, match) and lay out the components all flat with the battery moved to under the seat...this would of course require you to customize the harness which I think you said is going to need rehab work anyway...
