I'll trade you my 696 for a Street Triple R if you miss it that bad Wink

I'm hoping you get the Street Triple so I can come by and check it out.  I almost got one instead of the monster.  I just got a much better deal on my 696 than the Street Triples were going for at the time due to being so new.

Ya, I really enjoyed my 20 minutes on the Street Triple. I think the 'R' comes with the fully adjustable suspension which is one of my requirements so, if I buy new, that will likely be my choice for the naked/street category.

I'm still considering a true sportbike, however, and I'm trying to come up with a short-list. Bummed I couldn't ride the Daytona, but I suspect the performance is somewhere between the Street Triple and the Speed Triple with ergos similar to the gixxer I babysat in April. Regardless, the Daytona is on my short-list already because I trust the wisdom of this crowd (and cave to peer pressure occasionally).

So I'm off to the Kawasaki demo day thing this weekend, rain or shine. I plan to ride (in this order):

ZX-6R
Z1000
Ninja 1000
ZX-10R (in "rain mode")

IF that is the case...then why don't you own a Superduke yet?

on a serious note though...go up to JT Motorsports in Frederick and testride a KTM 990SM-T...seriously!

Yep, I suspect any of those 990 thingers will be fun. I have an issue with the price tag but am considering used. Hadn't heard of JT before so now I've got to go check 'em out.

Ditto. But, at the time, it was between the Street Triple and the 695. I decided I didn't want to trek down to Clinton for service and that Ducatis sound better.

Anyway... sorry for hijacking the "What did you do today" thread with what I'm going to do tomorrow and Sunday. And what I did last Saturday.

Last I checked, Battleys had a Superduke for $7995 with 1800 miles on it. Way better than a Speed/Street triple.
If Jim hasn't fixed the throttle , it will feel diconnected , if he fixed it , I am riding it first.

Should we setup a thread specifically for riding Jim's bike?

I think there is a category for it on Craigslist.

No. If there was, Massimo would have found it seconds after posting, Ben would have looked at it and said "meh", then Jim would have bought it and broke it.

Had my bike towed to Battley's to have then look at it and fix it.  What was the issue.  Not enough fuel.....

Feel kinda stupid but at least she's running again.  Just in time for the 6 DAYS OF RAIN!

If you got your bike towed because you were out of gas I just hope you understand the shame shower that is going to rain down upon you.

I can firmly say GAS was not the issue.

I think that bike was confused about its true identity, and might need to go in for counseling.

Being faster than you thought possible…it feels good. No, screw that—it feels like shotgunning a gallon of adrenaline and chasing it with an all-night orgy aboard a burning Viking boat.
