Took her out for her first long ride with a buddy up River Road to Poolesville.  Saw lotsa Monsters out and about including a red/white striped S*R on River Road.

Love everything about the way the SBK swap has changed the way the bike tracks, corners and handles.  Just need to get the front end and fork dialed in for this machine and we're all good. Might give MSP (is that the place you got your bike suspension worked on Jim and Ben?)

'94 with California emissions, over 140.000 miles now, got me to college, back and forth to Chicago and Louisville a few times, and all the way up to Toronto via Philly, NY, Boston and Niagara Falls. [thumbsup]
First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me--and there was no one left to speak for me.

My MkIV has about 125K on it.  Poor thing is starting to make some funny noises...
And the sugar fountain fairy swore so hard when she came to super-size that stale hope soybean; liiiike a homeless German woman. Who is this super-sizing spirit-crushing femme? And tell her I'll break a tree root up in her shrimp.

Being faster than you thought possible…it feels good. No, screw thatâ€"it feels like shotgunning a gallon of adrenaline and chasing it with an all-night orgy aboard a burning Viking boat.

Work work work... well I am at work today - but I'm talking about yesterday.

Replaced the clutch on the 900
Had to cut out a leaking water shut off for my washer and break out the torch a solder a new one on.
Fit a new door, in a normal frame
Fit a new door, in a not so normal frame. So I'm not sure how they managed to do it, but the folks who made the frame to a door in my basement that should have been 36" made it 35 3/4" in middle and 35 5/8" at the top and bottom. So what should have been a pretty fast job with a router and a couple hand chisels turned into an adventure with a circular saw, power sander, many test fittings and a shit ton of time.

Isn't be a homeowner grand

my current - soon to be former house. Knocking off the home inspection stuff. I had kitty doors they the buy wanted replaced.
The shut off for the clothes washer must have had a hairline crack in it because no matter what I had tried it would just weep a tiny bit of water. New seal at the joint, Teflon tape, sealant goop, saying nasty things to it... nothing would keep it from leaking just a tiny bit - like a drop of water every few hours.

So after much wasted time and many attempts to getting it to seal I said 'make the beast with two backsit, you're off!' and out came the pipe cutter and torch. After 1 failed try due to not enough heat I got a nice pretty joint on and it's done.

I gotta say, my joint is a lot nicer than the 'professional' ones I can see. Maybe I'm in the wrong trade.

That's the secret to sweating copper. When you think it's hot enough, torch it more. When the flame turns green, solder and set.

I wear glasses every day, if I wasn't wearing them I'd have burnt the house down :) Yellow safety glasses? Were you sweating pipe then going out to shoot some clays?

Took the SC out for a quick flog on some of the "local" roads, then went by Colemans to start the process of replacing yet another tank.  While there, noticed that I had picked up a nail in the rear tire.  The guy asked me if I had been up/down Joplin road, which I had.  Apparently someone has taken to distributing nails along the road over the last week or so...

Not the "is it safe to ride on this tire" thread?
