Yeah that is pretty serious, although there are some good alterante trails in there. - Gene
Yeah, that's the main thing that has kept me out of there so far. But from what I've heard, there's been a lot of trail work done there in the last year, and it's taken some of the extreme bits down a notch or two. Guess we'll see come Sunday. Hell, might even take off early tomorrow to get some trail time when it's not crowded...

Being faster than you thought possible…it feels good. No, screw that—it feels like shotgunning a gallon of adrenaline and chasing it with an all-night orgy aboard a burning Viking boat.

That's right. Fhead was my go-to trail since it's pretty close to me. A lot of the climbs that used to go straight up the hills have been re-routed so that they wind around and are longer, but much less steep. I think the trails are more rideable, but still a good workout. You'll have fun.
FYI: The new trail that opened by Gunston ES is not as hard as fhead and it's got good flow. Only 4.5 miles long though.

I got my eye on the Griffin ride being talked about on DCSB. Let me know if you'd be interested in that or something else.

No, it's called Meadowood. It's better than Laurel Hill. Park at Gunston ES and the trailhead is right there.

I'm just dusting off the mountain bike after years of not really using it. Figured I'd try fountain head as it's just down the road. I'm sure I'll be regretting the decision about five minutes into the ride, but oh well.
Anytime you (or anyone else for that matter) want to tackle the trails at Quantico, let me know. My bike is getting dusty in the garage

I'll hit you up soon for a trip out there soon. May hit up Shaeffer Farm on Saturday to determine my physical fitness level.

From the Washington Post's
Capital Weather Gang
:
"Saturday is the day you must come up with any excuse to get outside and enjoy a breath of spring. Skies should be mainly sunny. Breezes out of the southwest are in full force and highs respond generously, reaching the mid-to-upper 60s. I would not be surprised to see a spot or two reach 70. The evening remains tranquil with readings in the lower 60s."

Leaving at 1pm from the gas station on Clifton Rd and Wolf Run Shoals to points west. PM if you want to meet us there. Plan to be out for about 4 hours.

When I said this, I meant for Saturday. Sorry for any confusion.
