Do you know when they put it out?  It wasn't there Thursday.  I was actually looking to see if they had any KTM street bikes, and they didn't have anything out.

Being faster than you thought possible…it feels good. No, screw that—it feels like shotgunning a gallon of adrenaline and chasing it with an all-night orgy aboard a burning Viking boat.

Its never been on the floor at MFI, its on their website though.  I'm hoping it shows up on the floor soon as I haven't seen the SMT in person yet and would like to check it out.  They just got acquired it a few days ago.  Given the small physical space they usually stock several bikes that aren't on the floor so ask if there's something you are really interested in.

Great ride today guys!!

Yes..great ride.  I am going to put the 46 tooth rear sprocket back on the Dorsoduro.  The 48t is great on tight corners, but I lost all my top end...with 110 as a top speed and screaming rpms at 85-90mph.  I do too much commuting on the freeway to justify the change for now.

Yesterday I rode an F800GS at Bob's BMW....mixed emotions on it...I wasn't wow'd, but I wasn't disapointed either....

Yea?  What was it that you did/did not like about it?  I took one of the R1200GS's for a test spin before I left Germany.  Most amazingly balanced bike I had ever been on, but had no soul...

Yea?  What was it that you did/did not like about it?

one of my bigger nitpicks was that at 80mph it was tach'ing 5K+, which was more than half of it's rev range...
windscreen was barely adequate for deflection, I would have hated it for a long ride...
The bike had some stonk and guts, but it wasn't the raw kind you come to expect in a DS kind of bike as it had to be revved above 3800 rpm to start to get anything out of it...
brakes felt mushy without the ABS on and if you had the ABS on, it was like a 1st generation car kind of feel of engagement...
ergonomics were great...except for standing on the pegs which left you not as close to the bars as you may prefer to be...
the demo bike was equipped with some mods, and I was not ergonomically in favor of some of them, as they detracted from my experience, like the handguards might well as not have been there for how they were placed, and the crash bars were banging my shins on downshifts...but the Leo Vince pipe on it sounded mean and was mighty attractive in letting you know what was going on and the bike's general ability in a corner in terms of traction and planted feel was overall not that bad, in fact surprisingly supple an ample in that regard with decent manners and feedback without getting squirrelly or upset.

I'll suggest the S1000RR after my day today...remarkably comfortable! and just think how fast your commute could be!
