World Cup 2010 (spoilers inside of course)

I've been listening to the ESPN radio broadcasts while I work (my local sports station is broadcasting every game), and I've found them to be most entertaining and very exciting. Certainly no question when a goal is scored, and then called back. 

I wonder if the TV guys are told to keep it toned down, because presumably you can see for yourself what's going on... ?

I've become quite the addict. My BF is wondering what happened to his real girlfriend...

I think they purposely told them not to show emotion to not show bias. The Univision people refer to the latin american team as "our own". So slightly biased.

France and Italy were not as lucky as Germany and England. Spain might be going home today. Not a good World Cup so far for the Western Europeans.

Yep, they both are Western European, but everyone thought they would dominate at least the first round. Everyone expected the big 5 to make it past the first round.

and they did start caring. in the last 10 min at least....

I have the games on while I work. I'm contsantly multitasking and can't keep watching the game the whole time. When I had the game on ESPN I could never tell when they had scored. I missed a few goals simply because they used the same exact tone throughout the whole games. Absolutely no emotion. The guys on Univision are more like fans than the "experts" on ESPN that sound more like they're bitter that they're not playing.

I cna't watch at work. I can only follow the gamecast =(
i have to watch the replays or the expanded highlights at night.
