"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

It's a package deal. ;)
I plan to list the Federal Gov't. as a dependent on my next 1040 tax filing!

I have flying honey badgers and I'm not afraid to use them!

The fact that flame throwers exist is proof that someone somewhere said "I'd sure like to set those people over there on fire but I'm just not close enough to get the job done."

I think I was wrong about the arrow tip. I thought they opened up like that shotgun slug. The quick view they give of the arrow head in the video shows the blades already extended. Maybe they are fixed. My post about them opening up was based on memory from a video attachment in an old email. I've slept since then. ;D Regardless whether they open or are fixed they seem to be very effective. The only thing missing was Sarah Palin doing an interview on live TV in front of the turkey getting whacked!!! [laugh] [laugh]

They don't fold up, they are fixed. I think Cabelas, Bass Pro and Academy usually carry them

I didn't realize you could set up an ar to shoot .45 acp or 9x19

Is this a reasonable setup for this rifle?

Thinking of this as an option over a hi-point or ruger rifle in either of those calibers. More versatile that way.

Thoughts?

9mm ARs have been around for a long time.  Colt converted one a long while ago, put a 10" barrel on it and set it up for blowback.  They just call it the Colt SMG. http://www.colt.com/mil/SMG.asp

Reasonable?  Hell yeah.  That's why I wanted the AR in the Tokarev load -- CHEAP ammo!

You can chamber an AR in practically anything that is shorter than an AR magazine, which means a lot of loads can be used.  45?  I don't think I've seen it, but I've seen lots based on the 5.56 case (i.e. Grendel, 6.8SPC) and a special 50 cal load, 9mm, Tokarev, 22 and others.

Rock River makes a couple.  One in .40 and one in 9mm.

If I built something like that I would just have to swap out the upper and mag to shoot a different caliber. Correct?

There is always just a bit more to it than meets the eye.  RRA I think recommends a special hammer, etc so you end up having a dedicated lower for your pistol caliber carbine.  Not bad, just not quite as flexible as one would like.  The AR pistol caliber carbines are a far more usable and reliable weapon than a Hi-Point.  They are cheap and  they will go bang but using a Hi-Point is like having a garage full of wonderful Italian motorcycles and riding some North Korean motorized bicycle around.
This isn't a dress rehearsal for life - this is it!

I believe Colt built that 9mm AR machine gun for the DEA several years ago. I remember pics of DEA agents all geared up for entry and they had cans on their 9mm Colts. Afterward I saw them at gun shows in semi auto. Never considered one because at the time I had a good ole UZI and a HK94 as my 9mm carbines.

I have a Rock River built lower with a GG&G 16" quad rail upper and I am very impressed with RR quality. Good stuff! [thumbsup] Their 1911s are damn nice looking too. Never fired one but they also look very well made. I think I remember reading or hearing that the RR founders came from Les Baer. Anyone else hear that? Just curios.

Not sure where the founders came from but, unless I missed an announcement, they aren't making 1911's anymore.  I was bummed out when I read that.  I really wanted one.

My 6.8 upper is an RRA and it's great.  I have a lower that I'm eventually gonna register and make an SBR.  Just no time soon, unfortunately.

Had no idea they dropped 1911s. :o Wow! Wonder if the market if just flooded with too many 1911 manufacturers right now? You'd think that would be the same problem for AR platforms... if that's even the case with the 1911s. Not that I need another 1911 but the Rock River .45s I have seen were very nice. Bet you can still find one. It's not like they are treasured collectors items yet. Just a damn well made auto pistol.
