GUN STUFF

Dude. I hate to hear this story. I have heard so much heart ache at the courthouse for so many years. I feel your pain and all of theirs. Nothing worse than working so hard to earn the money to buy your stuff then having some no good SOB asshole come and take it. They deserve the worst you or I could ever deal them... and then some!

With every theft case my wife and I dealt with our knowledge grew. We learned their tricks and ID theft BS first hand. It was like going to crook school every day. Do this, don't do that and be sure to tell all your friends and family so they don't become victims!

I always said if the dumbass crooks ever used their street smarts for a legitimate, legal venture they would become very successful business men and women! They were far from dumb, just hung a hard left instead of a right... no political bias here. Just saying. They just went the wrong way. It's not like TV crime shows. The pain and misery is off the chart and there is no fixing it. Regardless of convictions and sentences. The damage has been done to the victim and the rest of their life is one filled with paranoia and loss and a feeling that the system failed them. Glad we both don't work down there any more. Sucked the life right out of the both of us.

Just be prepared. You are the first line of defense, not the police. Just try and be smarter than them and make them hit the next darkened house on your block and not yours. Feel sorry for your neighbors loss and just be glad it wasn't you! That's a win!!!

What a world we live in! Hopefully it will get better for our kids. Hopefully. :P

The fact that flame throwers exist is proof that someone somewhere said "I'd sure like to set those people over there on fire but I'm just not close enough to get the job done."

CONFIDENCE: the feeling you have right before you understand the situation.

Fastwin,

I agree with much of what you say, but I feel my neighbor's pain, and "them instead of me" leaves me cold.

I'm no more worthy of favor than my neighbor unless they're assholes, liars or thieves.

I say hold the piece-of-shit crooks accountable the first time they stray from decency, and they won't graduate to bigger crimes.

But it appears that's not our "collective" style. We throw money at a problem rather than address the actual issue.

Our community's leaders, no matter where in the country, simply turn a blind eye and a deaf ear to the larger issue.

It seems we are circling the drain these days...

Sorry- I guess I haven't thought about this stuff for a while; it brings back bad memories. Not only was my collection stolen, but my father's collection was stolen as well. When he passed, his collection became a part of mine. I feel like I let him down.

Damn. Sure didn't want to drudge up bad memories. I inherited several of my father's guns and my grandfather's guns and would be crushed by their loss. I am sorry for your loss and if nothing else it teaches us all a leason that our stuff is not as safe as we think it is. Lots of bad folks out there with nothing better to do but to find a way around our best defense. Game on. I've been hit but luckily my defense paid off. They left with nothing because they couldn't physically take anything. I stumped them cold in their tracks. I upped the ante after that and just made it worse for them. Hope you did too. [thumbsup] Again, sorry to bring up a bad time for you. Use your loss to your advantage! Screw 'em!! [popcorn]

Don't get me started regarding insurance...  A 100% replacement policy is NOT a 100% replacement payment.

I figure my insurance paid far less than half the value even though I had been paying an extra premium.

The big print gives and and the small print takes away. (Please take that to heart)

Think about "pieces" that are no longer manufactured or otherwise available, let alone the "personal, sentimental" value. Many of those firearms cannot possibly be replaced. They were mine, and they were perfect. I worked to buy what I wanted, and they were simply taken. And my father's guns are simply impossible to replace, of course.

...and they beat up my dog...

...dead in a ditch...  ...that's what they deserve...   But they won't get it. They'll get a 27th chance.

Officially tired,

Personally I wouldn't care about the loss of the guns

They are just things

Beating up my dog however

Unacceptable

ducatiz

Yeah, getting the guns should put them in prison.. but beating up the poor dog?  That should get them put elsewhere.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

Scumbags is scumbags.

It's a shame they're protected to a greater extent than decent folks minding their own business.

There's still a chance I'll find out who broke in. This is a small town.
