Vision is a constant problem.  I run 3 different sets of glasses.  My standard lineless bifocals for computer work, in the house and for seeing the front sight of a pistol.  My standard lined bifocals for rifle shooting, motorcycling, outdoor work and special glasses with an adjustable lens for apeture sight target shooting.

Iron sight shooting makes your eyes work very hard to maintain the proper focus.  Its like working a muscle - the  more you work it, the easier it gets.  When I'm shooting smallbore hard, 3 hours a day, 3 days a week, the focus gets lots easier - It would probably take me 2 months to get my eyes back into condition for that right now.
This isn't a dress rehearsal for life - this is it!

Sig piston set up?
And the sugar fountain fairy swore so hard when she came to super-size that stale hope soybean; liiiike a homeless German woman. Who is this super-sizing spirit-crushing femme? And tell her I'll break a tree root up in her shrimp.

Being faster than you thought possible…it feels good. No, screw thatâ€"it feels like shotgunning a gallon of adrenaline and chasing it with an all-night orgy aboard a burning Viking boat.

Does anyone not make an AR platform rifle these days? I knew about the SIG but every day I see or hear about a new one, gas, piston, etc... at least they all take the same magazine. ;D Pretty amazing considering how they started out.
I plan to list the Federal Gov't. as a dependent on my next 1040 tax filing!

I have flying honey badgers and I'm not afraid to use them!

The fact that flame throwers exist is proof that someone somewhere said "I'd sure like to set those people over there on fire but I'm just not close enough to get the job done."

CONFIDENCE: the feeling you have right before you understand the situation.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

They will probably come out with a line this afternoon. ;D

The SIG516 is gas-piston and cost around *mumble mumble mumble*   :P

Now I need a small portable gun safe. I move pretty frequently, so a safe that can take some abuse is ideal. Any suggestions?

I've got a couple of stand up gun safes. One big (VERY un-portable!) and one much smaller. Both are Browning Pro-Steel safes. The smaller one can be handled by just me and a good two wheel hand cart. I can (with minor difficulty) flip it up in and out of bed of my pick up. After my wife and I split years ago the small one served me well in the walk in closet of my condo. And yes, it was on the first floor! I've seen lots of safes that size made by other manufacturers.

I hate how safe companies say they can fit X amount of rifles in their safe, but only fit about X/2 in the real world.  >:(
