Just put one of these on "California Lay-A-Way" which means I can pick it up in ten days.

DTI 316 "MOE" (they didn't have the Larry or Curley editions).  Also picked up a Magpul rear pop up sight.

Also put a Blackhawk SpecOps Gen II Adjustable Shotgun Stock with recoil suppression on my Mossy 500.  Was going to take it out tomorrow to try it out, but apparently there are more gifts to buy, pack, and ship before the UPS store closes at 3 tomorrow afternoon.   :'(

I worked with the real life 'Hoot' training Air Marshal's after 9-11. He told me he never said that.

A question...

Does anyone have any experience with Del-Ton?

I went in looking to by the S&W M&P 15 Sport due to the price.  The guy at the counter recommended the Del-Ton Echo 316 MOE OD, saying it was only about $100 [more] but it comes with the forward assist and dust cover over the ejection port.  These two items were left off the M&P Sport.  From what I've read they were left off to help lower the price.  He made a case for the need for the forward assist.  Additionally the guy said that the Echo 316 was mil-spec, while the M&P Sport was not.

So, I went with the Del-Ton.  Due to local custom I cannot pick it up until 26 December so I don't know what it's like to shoot.

Again, anyone have any experience/knowledge about Del-Ton?  Good?  Bad?

I don't know about Del-Ton personally, but they get positive reviews.  I just built an Anderson Mfg stripped lower, and it went together just as well as my CMMG.

I believe there are 4 or so companies that manufacture most of the mid-low end AR lowers- there is a pinned thread on AR15.com about it.

Is the M&P not considered mil spec for the dust cover and forward assist?  The one I looked at had a pinned stock also (non-adjustable) which was not ideal.

I would think those items alone are sufficient to not meet mil-spec.  I do not know if there are other issues involved regarding materials, clearances, or other such things.
