I worked at RCTA all last week training Leo's. It's a CQB course (all Simms) so I don't really do any flat range work with them. I do discuss some weapons manipulation skills though. (They're in dire need of it) Worked them really hard and passed on a lot of knowledge. (CQB) Was able to get in one session while I was there. The Boss has us over for a cookout and he's got a small range, so I brought my kit and ran 250rds in about 30min. Didn't want to be rude to the guests and of course none of them wanted to shoot. :D  Cracks me up sometimes. Picked up an Agency Arms trigger shoe for the M&P, uses the same Apex internals, and is supposed to cleanup some of the pre-travel slop. I'll run it Tuesday and find out.

Started today doing aim small miss small on a 10” disc from 10. I ran delibrate controlled pairs really driving the sights, 50rds. Shot a bunch of multiples, some tgts in depth and some singles from the rig at 50. The next drill is something I'm thinking of adding when I teach. The natural progression for forward or lateral movement is steps & turns. I've been working on a drill where, say downrange is 12 o'clock, where you face 3 and you have a tgt at 1 and 11. The head moves first (gotta ID the threat) and draw and shoot, feet in-place, the tgt at 1 first, keep rotating the upper body and drop the opposite knee forward to help the rotation and engage the tgt at 11ish. I've been thinking about adding that drill as a precursor to movement. You can do any MOE you want or add in mag changes. We'll see.

Decent session today. Wasn't quite feeling it early on, but it wasn't a bailout situation. I pushed back to 50 to run a mag, and went 0-10 single shots from the rig. For make the beast with two backss sake, I know I can hit that from here, not every shot but damn. Went back up to 10 to work on the 8” disc, and started missing. Quick check of the front sight and it had pushed way right.  [bang] Realigned it and off to the races. On the way home I was 30sec behind one of the worst headon collisions I've see in a long time. Bailed out with my aid bag, but it was a done deal. 100yd debris field, looked like an IED incident. make the beast with two backsing brutal.

Yup, but run it from both sides.

The movie I trained Nicole for debut was at Telluride Film Festival. I'm sure their gonna tweak it more, but this is the first write up I've read. Release date is Christmas.

RIP Richard and Mary. I didn't know you or you me, but I was talking to you while I checked you for a pulse. Maybe you heard me, but I highly doubt it. I won't soon forget.

Almost forgot. That Agency Arms trigger kit I purchased was the wrong one. To do it correctly I need to ship them my gun. Something to do with an agreement they made with Apex, since they're using their internals. So it goes for a plane ride tomorrow. 5-7 day turnaround. I'll run the 2.0 full-size this week.

Ran the 2.0 full-size today. The compact is somewhere between here an Cal. Good session today, I'm really working hard on faster focus shifts between multiple tgts. STI called and the new slide is cut and fitted. He's got it completely apart (obviously) so he's gonna put the smaller/thinner grip and shorter trigger on it for me. Trying to find the best price on the Trijicon RMR now. It's gonna be a fun range gun.
