Traded off some toys (RC cars) for another toy...
DMPS AR-15.
Ignore the existing furniture. I have a different forward grip for it. But the previous owner just threw in all of the AR parts he had...
Never fired outside of the single factory test round.
Taking it plinking on Sunday.

It's no Perazzi, but better than RC car stuff. ;D

Just got back from running a 3 day Performance Pistol class at T.E.E.S. It was designed to take existing instructors up to another level. We did a shit ton of CTE's and they were able to collect a lot of data. Had some AF dudes, a few SWAT guys and a prior service guy that owns a company in Houston. Pretty solid group of folks. They ran a little over 1k rounds.

After 3 days of training folks, I got to train myself today. Got after it pretty hard with the 48. Perfect weather here this time of year.

Curious if those mags are reliable?

Not enough rounds on em yet to be certain but no issues so far.

I see your concerns though.

Picked up a POF Revolution DI in 308 recently.  It's everything I wanted in a 308 AR style weapon.  It looked like they had somewhat mixed reviews at first, but got them sorted pretty quickly.  Mine is been flawless and will chug out consistent MOA or better 5 shot groups at 100yds with me at the trigger. Put my Vortex 3-15 scope on it and I'm ready for deer season.

If I handed it to you you'd swear it's a standard 223 AR 15, until you looked at the magwell.

So Kopf, I always read about your time in the range. How about some words about after the range day is over. What's your firearm cleaning regimen?

I've briefly discussed it. I do two live sessions a week, rarely more, but occasionally. I clean on the weekend after the two sessions. I use simple green mostly. I break the gun all the way down and scrub it with a toothbrush. Spray it off again and hit the tight spots with couple Q-tips. Then wipe it down with a rag. I use small microfiber rags. Put it together and leave it bone dry. Next session I lube it with Lucas Oil extreme duty. Doesn't get cleaned again till after the next day 2. I never run a bore brush through it either. You can, but I like keeping the fowling in the barrel. The little 48 has 20k + through it now.  Ask 100 guys you'll get 90 variations. Ran 300rds today.

Oh, and out of those 100 guys you ask. 5 of them will shoot as much as I do. Bottom line is.....Don't over clean your guns! Period.
