"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

Being a 44 fan, you really should read up on the "Father" of the 44 mag. Here is something to wet your interest. http://garyreederdoeselmerkeith.blogspot.com/2009/03/elmer-keiths-influence-on-handgun.html

"Hell, I was There" has been OOP for many years. You'll have to download a copy like I did. or spend +$100 for a vintage one.

Even if you missed the muzzle blast might save your life. lol

I think I would rather have an extra inch of barrel with a muzz break though.

That thing should have an axle, wheels and a trailer hitch.

I have finally started working on my next pig slayer. Remington LTR in .308 with the 40X trigger. This is the first time I've painted a stock. I'm pleased with the results!

Looks dam nice! What process did you use?

zach (Slag)

Thanks  [beer]  The process is incredibly easy. Rustoleum textured spray paint for the base, and Krylon webbing spray for the stringy effect.  The textured base makes for a very sure grip, and is supposed to hold up well. I sanded the cheek weld area a bit to save some skin while shooting.

I plan to list the Federal Gov't. as a dependent on my next 1040 tax filing!

Anyone know about the 17 Winchester Super Mag rimfire, any other rifle besides Savage?   It is supposed to be out by now but there's very little information besides factory sites.  I have Coyotes waiting for it, 3000 fps rimfire / sweet.

I mention this all the time to my shooting buddies (it's a common topic) but where in the hell did all the .22lr ammo go? Haven't been able to find a single box here in Dallas in over half a year... maybe longer!

Went to my farm in east Texas this weekend and hit the Wal-Mart in Mineola to look for some. Had the same problem a few years ago in Dallas only to find a three foot tall stack of "bricks" at this country town Wal-Mart.

Not any more. Once again I stopped by on the way home and the guy at the gun/fishing counter said the last .22 ammo they saw was before Thanksgiving! He said they had maybe 4-5 boxes (don't know if he meant bricks or 50 rnd boxes) and he said they were gone in 10 minutes.

All my usual on line ammo sites are bone dry. Heck, even the Wal-Mart had maybe 2-3 boxes of odd ball rifle ammo and a handful of boxes of shotgun birdshot. That's it.

I am sure people are saving their "big boy" ammo and shooting .22s but jeez... can't the manufacturers keep up with the demand. We aren't talking .50 bmg or .338 mag here! It's just .22lr plinking ammo for God's sake!

If anyone has an outlet for reasonably priced, quality, high velocity, jacketed .22lr ammo please share with us. Better still, just PM me so no one else finds out! [laugh] [evil]

Don't hold your breath.

There just isn't any...or not much to speak of.

Walmarts get shipments a couple of time a week and get a few boxes of everything they order. It's gone in minutes.

That's the way it seems to me and that's what the associate said. Jeez... only 5 boxes since before Thanksgiving! Insane. [bang]

Again, why hasn't production caught up with demand. I can guess where it's all going but why haven't the makers kicked it into 6th gear with the throttle pinned?
