We bagged 5 tonight, plus a stack of rabbits.
Two of the five were dispatched by myself and my Henry .22LR lever action.

Foxes and rabbits are introduced pests down here which cause great damage to the natural flora and fauna. Open season. We call rabbits "underground mutton" in the country.  :D
We are also developing a deer problem with plague numbers in the Grampians National Park , Yarra Ranges State Forests and the Dandenong Ranges National Parks. Might have to get something heavy caliber for the Samba GK.

I know there's heaps who love stalking animals for hours on end. I'm not one of them.

Is that something you'd like koko? I know you've mentioned a large caliber rifle a few times!

I'm more a target shooter. I'm done hunting for dinner although eradicating vermin helps the land. There's a branch of a local club specialising in open sight big bore rifles. Lee Enfields, BSAs and the like, 308s and 303s, range and wind adjustment, allowing for the drop of the projectile. Slow and steady long range stuff, real old school with no scopes allowed.
I think that's the crew I want to join.

I'm almost at a loss for words, I will say this. If you spend any time on a range around multiple shooters you're gonna catch brass from time to time. They seem to find a way down your shirt, and they burn like a mothermake the beast with two backser, but you gotta suck it up until you either holster or put the gun down before you start jumping around and screaming. If you're on a 'bowling' lane range up against a wall, you're gonna eat brass. Deal with it. You'll also catch spall coming back off of steel, hurts like make the beast with two backs, suck it up. 'Never ever let the muzzle of your gun point at anything you're not prepared to destroy' I've most likely said that thousands and thousands of times. Finger is never on the trigger until sights are on the target, and the split second you come off the target, your finger goes on the frame.

Father shot and killed his 14yr old son in Fla, trying to get hot brass out of his shirt.

Very sad. RIP Stephen, prayers with your family during this time.

Sadly completely avoidable.

It's all in the grind, Sizemore. Can't be too fine, can't be too coarse. This, my friend, is a science. I mean you're looking at the guy that believed all the commercials. You know, about the "be all you can be." I made coffee through Desert Storm. I made coffee through Panama while everyone else got to fight, got to be a Ranger.
