"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

And Colt appears to be shutting down operations too.  For like the 10th time.

I read the article, but only the first page of the forum thread...

it doesn't seem to be substantiated...just hearsay from 'misanthropic'...

or are the rumors substantiated later in the thread?

Meanwhile, you can find decent brand ARs for $450.

http://www.sportsmansguide.com/product/index/ruger-ar-556-semi-automatic-556-nato-161-barrel-30-rounds?a=1815207

The bottom is dropping out on the AR market.

It will be interesting to see how cheap they get.  It used to be you'd only see the "Anderson" and Del-Ton super-cheap models (no sights) for aorund $500.  Ruger's AR is supposed to be pretty decent.

It's not like the AK or FAL market that died when the parts kits died.  There are a shit-ton of AR makers.  How many will go out of business?

It's rumors, but Colt has done bankruptcy like 2 or 3 times now.  It's not like it's hard to believe, they haven't innovated in 20 years.

I understand that part of it. Still rumor.

They lost their following. The collectors still buy the old stuff, but no one is interested in anything they produce anymore.

Like I said...we'll see.

I haven't heard about squibs. I have heard about some brass separation issues when used for reloading. FM uses, or used to use, a step inside the case to avoid setback. It's a natural stress point, and some have had issues.

Yeah there's a few companies out there running that type of case, I bin those and give them to the same guy I give all my nickel plated cases to, he seems to have no issue with them but did say that he only uses them for certain loads due to the step.

Was Howie involved in the development of this round?

A sign of the times sadly. Not the case here yet, but I can certainly foresee the need.

Talk about guns...

not the need for security in any particular venue...

K?

Thanks.
