Sounds like you were being set up and framed by grouchy neighbors. 500 yards my ass! Super Magnum BB!! [laugh]

Reminds me of a local news story a few years ago when a home owner in a newly built housing development in neighboring Plano, TX got the TV news crews out to their house to do a story on the "dangerous gun range" off in the distance. First off, who the hell builds a housing development next to a gun range that's been there for decades? Gun ranges and airports have the same problem with these yahoo home owners. [bang]

Anyway, as "proof" of the dangerous shooting going on at the range the home owner held up "spent rounds" that have ricocheted into his back yard where his children play. You guessed it... he was holding up shell casings, not bullets. [roll] He probably drove to the range and secretly snatched up a couple of shell casings for his 15 minutes of fame on TV news. Obviously it worked because there he was on TV complaining about his kids safety. :P And yes, the range is still there! [thumbsup]

I've often known shell casing to travel along with the bullet.........if you throw it with your hand or punt one....

That is hilarious.

The sucky thing is we ended up having to pay for that make the beast with two backsing piece of glass because a window was cheaper than an attorney.............

The funny thing also is (was at this present time....thanks AEP) there is a HUGE row of pine trees. So how the hell did this BB go all the way through my backyard and then four houses north of the house behind ours?

No make the beast with two backsing way.

The kicker of the story is.................there was an infant playing the same room and could have killed her according to this lady's filing with the police report.

It was a total sham for a new window.

If you really want to get technical, they are all mine because the titles are all in my name, but sit in our joint safety deposit box. AND......they are all registered to me.

but she did pay for the bike.........so on that side it is technically hers, I just did the inspection, test ride, and overall general ruling if it was a good buy or not.

I've got a pile of the old Black Talon in stock before it was classified "cop killer" by folks we know. [roll] Always been fond of Cor-Bon. But I also have never dug a round out of flesh. Hell... ball ammo seems to have served the purpose for a few years. ;D As long as it runs, you can hit with it and doesn't jam it will do by me.

Any chance you might still have a box of Black Talon 9mm that you would be willing to part with?  I would love to add a box to the collection  ;D

As far as testing ammo for reliability, I try to get it done with as few rounds as possible since some of the new defense ammo can be upwards of $1/round.  I'll load a mag to capacity and shoot 3 rounds, reload with a magazine that only has 3 rounds in it and shoot those.  This way i know it will feed no matter how compressed the mag spring is.  Then I'll shoot 3 rounds while "limp wristing" the gun.  I figure no matter how much you practice, if you actually need to use the gun in a defense situation you might not have a chance to get a solid grip.

As a birthday present to myself last weekend, I traded in my Glock 33 for a Glock 19.

I am trying to consolidate my guns based on caliber and the .357 Sig really didn't fit it in nor is it a very cost effective gun to shoot. So out it went. I did not get the Gen 4 model 19. I didn't think an ambi mag release or some clip on grip extension to be worth the extra money. I am sure the ambi mag release would have been nice for my wife who is left handed, but all our other guns are standard left side release, so I didn't see the point in a gun that is different then our others; She agreed.

Anyway.........

After trading some PM's with Kopjager and advice on here, I figured out my mysterious glock shooting issue: trigger pull.

Kopjager put it best "Don't think of it as pulling the trigger, rather think of it as pressing the trigger"

a little correction in that aspect of my shooting and no more high left rounds.

Thanks dude for the advice  [thumbsup]

You know, I'm not sure. I tended to be a .45acp guy around the time of the evil, murderous Talon Noir. I'm betting most of it is .45. I'll take a look in the bowels of my ammo stash and let you know. I moved toward Cor-Bon years ago and now pretty much any carry or home defense handgun I have packs that. Both 9mm or .45acp.

CB... I love my Glock 19s, they are my favorite Glock. As much as I am a 1911 fan Glocks run #2 on the list. They just seem to function well, aren't brutally expensive but most of all they just work for me. I was excited when the 21 came out years ago being a .45acp nut. But damn, it was big in the grip... at least for me. I have medium size hands at best. It all came full circle when the 36 came out. Glock goodness in an Officers frame size. Neat little gun in my fav caliber. Still digging the 19 the most... especially as cheap as surplus 9mm is to shoot in this day and time.

Great pro advice on the trigger work. Took me a while before a local IDPA hotshot beat that "press don't pull" trick into my head. Good stuff! [thumbsup]

Are these Talons you keep referring to the Teflon Coated infamous "cop killers?"

Glocks don't run the highest on my list, but I took a liking to my wife's Glock 21, got myself the 33 and figured it was a bad buy on my part based on ammo prices in general. However, I like this 19. It is a nice gun. A little lengthier than my Kahr, but not too bad. Also, you get 15 + 1 instead of 7 + 1 in the Kahr.

I've never gotten into 1911's. Never seemed functional to me unless you are open hip carrying which isn't really recommended in Ohio. Sure, it is technically allowed, but the harassment that will follow and subsequent tickets (heard someone got one for "insighting panic" or something like that) is not worth it. I have shot a few of them and thought it was a nice gun; shot a Kimber and a good old Colt.

Overall........I am a HK guy, but they have gotten ridiculously expensive.

no teflon coating.  it's an oxide (rust) process that gives the color.  No ability to penetrate kevlar either due to mega high expansion rates

The best part is the irony of the phrase "cop killer".  They were just a good self defense round that expanded into a pointed star shape.  I guess a few nut-jobs decided it would be their ammo of choice when going on a shooting rampage...I think a cop may have been killed in the process.  After the media blamed the entire incident on the black talons, they were pulled from the shelves.  Supposedly, someone makes a round very similar to the talons..I want to say Ranger SXT?  I remember looking into it and you have to be LEO to purchase them  >:(
