Another vid like that and every gun thread will be removed.

No discussion.

I've been gone for few days. I don't see a video link in a post that would be upsetting. Did the poster delete it? Just curious is all, not stirring the pot here. [thumbsup]

Speaking of on topic stuff, went dove hunting in west TX at a friend's ranch (don't ask OK, there were no freaking dove!!! [bang]). Anyway, a bunch of guys brought dirt bikes, beer, food and guns so who gave a shit about dove. There were several semi to heavy modded 10/22 Rugers and they got a good thrashing. It was amazing what a heavy barreled 10/22 with an aftermarket trigger could do at a 100 yards. We had a couple sets of steel spinners that were 1" round set at 100 yrds. It was a semi drunken contest (no, we weren't that drunk shooting guns! A beer or 2) of who could ring all 10 spinners in a row. Damn good fun! Several 10/22 configurations were capable with the right ammo... shooting off the roof of an old Nissan pick up. The favorite ammo that was eaten was an Aguila sub-sonic .22LR... can't remember the name on the box. [bang] Lots of good cheap fun. Took lots of other fire sticks and shot them but the .22 stuff was the most fun. ;D
I plan to list the Federal Gov't. as a dependent on my next 1040 tax filing!

I have flying honey badgers and I'm not afraid to use them!

The fact that flame throwers exist is proof that someone somewhere said "I'd sure like to set those people over there on fire but I'm just not close enough to get the job done."

I also said "no discussion".

I shoot the Aguila sub-sonic. It's good stuff, pretty quiet, and still packs a punch.

Agreed, no board discussion. Wasn't looking to re-flame an issue. [thumbsup] Peace. Out.

Tell me about aguila sub sonic...

I have two types, one has 30gr bullet w a regular case and the other has a 70 gr bullet with a short case but oal is the same.  Both are low powder.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

I'm using a 40gr (I think)

The subsonic just takes the 'crack' out of the report because it's sub-sonic.  ;D

Sounds more like a pellet rifle.

Aguila also makes a round that uses something other than gunpowder. They call it the 'Super Colibri' and I'm told it's even quieter. The bullets are typically light.

Keep in mind low powered rounds sometimes won't cycle the action of a semi auto, although I hear the sub-sonic works in many. My 22 is a single shot so it's no issue.

I use it because I like to shoot out the back of the barn and it doesn't seem to bother the neighbors.

That is a primer only round.  It is great for indoor shooting, which is what it is designed for.

yes.  i had this grand idea to set up a target in my manhattan apartment.  lol

i made a trap, it worked.  they are too expensive to use for me.  i mean, i don't need them.

i woudn't use them for anything else, they are too low power.  the subsonic type with the heavy projectile are the best imho for pests.  the weight of the bullet makes up for the lower velocity.  they will not cycle an action though.

I've seen them with a 60 gr projectile, but never 70.

I know my 223 doesn't like a heavy projectile because of rate of twist, and the reviews I've read of the 60 gr are the same in barrels with similar twist rates.

Of course I don't know what the twist rate is on the old single shot I have, but I have no problems with a 40 gr round for pests.

Aguila calls their 60gr short the Sniper Subsonic (or SSS for short).

I've read that you need a barrel with twist tighter than 1:16 to stabilize the bullet enough to make it accurate.

Aguila claims they'll cycle any semi-auto action, but I guess that's marketing for ya.

ducatiz

Don't quote me on those weights.  I think it may have been 35 and 65 or ?  I know they were heavier than ytpical 22lr

The reviews I've read are mixed on the cycling. Some people have had good results and others not.
