That's a lot of cheese for a pistol that can't give a blow job

Nice gun though

I just couldn't justify the cost

Which one there is about 30 of them. You get what you pay for, but then I guess if it spends 6 months
at a time sitting on the dresser, it really doesn't matter.  :D
Woohoohoohoo! Two personal records! For breath holding and number of sharks shot in the face.

No zing. He's right.

Im cool with it.

Im on my phone and im guessing that page didn't load right.

All that came up was a massive .45 for more than $2000

When you get some time, even if your not in the market for an STI, check
all their stuff out. It's gun porn at it's finest.  ;)

I found more...

Porn indeed

Those are *very* nice

I know you get what you pay for but is a $2000 pistol five times better than a $400 pistol (sti vs ruger for example)

There are plenty of guns on that site (well not plenty) for under $2k. Yes of course they are that nice. If
you are at the Range and you spot someone shooting one, go ask him/her about it. I'm sure they would be
happy to let you shoot it.

Oh and please don't mention that other brand in the same sentence as STI.  :D

What's wrong with R**er?

It brings STI down a level doesn't it?

:)

Wait...

Maybe STI brings Ruger *up* a level

What's the value of a Winchester 1866 Centennial 30-30? Absolutely perfect in every way, never been fired.

Ah, I have a '66 Centennial 30-30 Winchester new in the box, unfired with the octagonal barrel and gold accents but it's a 1966 gun not a 1866 gun. My Dad gave it to me in 1966. I have never fired it and have taken it out of the original sleeve maybe 8-10 times since 1966 to make sure it was OK and wipe it down with an oiled rag. As cool as it is it's not worth very much. It is to me since my late Dad gave it to me. That's worth more than money. My kid will get it next.
I plan to list the Federal Gov't. as a dependent on my next 1040 tax filing!

I have flying honey badgers and I'm not afraid to use them!

The fact that flame throwers exist is proof that someone somewhere said "I'd sure like to set those people over there on fire but I'm just not close enough to get the job done."

CONFIDENCE: the feeling you have right before you understand the situation.

My buddy shoots an Sti, .45.  The action is buttery teflon smooth.  He has had some spring issues.....not sure which one.

It's sweet, but high maintenance.  Kind of like the sbk of .45s.

With all the myths floating around about handgun "Stopping Power", I would recommend looking up a copy of Evan Marshall's book, "Handgun Stopping Power"

Mr. Marshall, a police officer, researched thousands of shootings, attended inquests and collated a vast amount of data from real world performance and developed a pretty good body of information on effectiveness on many calibers, bullet types and loads from actual shootings.  He also compared his real world data with a number of common "stopping power" predictive models used by police and military agencys.

The information is quite illuminating and dispells a lot of myths.  Worth reading.
This isn't a dress rehearsal for life - this is it!

I think a lot depends on your intended use.

Guns can be likened to tools.

If you use a torque wrench one every 6 months in your garage it's difficult to justify getting a top of the line Snappy. If you use it every day to make your living it becomes much easier.

If you go to the range a few times a year your $400 pistol will probably suit you just fine if it eats and spits out everything you feed it. If you depend on a pistol for more it would be easy to justify the added cost.

STI make awesome guns

I have a phillipino made 1911 imported in the 90s by PAC that I've run about a jillion rounds thru. it has a GI finish -- not a looker.

but it works flawlessly.

spent $225 for it.. in 1995

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

Monsterlover

Theres a reason the 1911 design is still around

It works pretty well

I love my sistema. Its probably a 7 or 8/10ths gun on the outside. With a good mag it feeds my home loads quite well.

Not the most accurate gun ever. My best group is probably 3"

On the other hand, being a military gun, its had more than a few rounds through it since it was born in the early 40's
