They are nice guns. When my wife and I went and looked at pistols it was her first choice and my second.  We looked at the mpc.

I felt the ruger fit my hand a little better though. It was also $110 less so that sealed the deal for me.

After we recover from the ruger purchase that's what we'll be looking at next.

A couple shots of the bore after 63 rounds of hard cast lead. The last shot is of all the goodies the brass brush pushed out.

Doesn't look like enough to worry about.

I read somewhere that if you continue using lead, as opposed to jacketed, it will never be an issue.

Where'd you read that?  I can't see why it would make any difference switching back and forth.

Im no expert though.

Not everyone does I guess.

I guess if you use non-corrosive ammo and jacketed bullets many guns get cleaned more frequently than necessary.

wear gloves when you clean?

you ought to.

i know it's all macho not to and a lot of guys while "pffft" it, but there are tons of toxins in that stuff, esp if you shoot chicom and soviet milsurp like i do.  i bought a box of nitrile gloves from harbor freight and i use them now for damn near everything.  keeps your purty nails clean too.

if you got that much debris out, i would also recommend a lead remover like sweet's or lewis.  i have read about using a 1:1 solution of vinegar and hydrogen peroxide, but i don't know if it works -- it would be a lot cheaper if it does.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

H2O2 and Vinegar work great as a lead remover but it will etch the tar out of everything else it touches.  I tested it by mixing some up in a jar and dropping in a 50 cal lead ball and let it sit overnight.  It completely dissolved the ball by morning.  Works!
This isn't a dress rehearsal for life - this is it!

I don't. I know I should though.

I even have the gloves so I really have no excuse.

My indoor range has so-so ventilation and after 50-75 rounds of .45acp I can taste gun powder/smoke.

After I get home and clean my guns ill wash my face and hands. Then ill rinse my sinuses out with the neti pot.

Looks scarier than it is and it works very well.

I damn sure do. Wear my shooting glasses too. Probably why I've lived so long! [laugh]

I used to shoot so much indoors (practice, IDPA, etc...) that my ex-wife forced me to go have my blood tested for lead content years ago. She heard or read a story about the possible build up caused by indoor conditions and got all freaked out. Given how our relationship ended I'm surprised she ever really cared! [laugh] You'd think she would have encouraged me to do it more!! ;D Anyway, it came out perfectly fine. Actually I wouldn't have been shocked to see it slightly elevated but it wasn't. I know what you mean about the taste in the air. I used to take a good long shower after a match or practice. I'm sure that helps too.
