I got an email today stating that the ammo I ordered near the end of last week was actually back ordered.  So I had to order some from a different supplier today.

what caliber?

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

Woohoohoohoo! Two personal records! For breath holding and number of sharks shot in the face.

Any one get into shooting bowling pins, I love killing pins.  I used to attend the "Second Chance" pin shoot here in Michigan.  It was a ten day blast event.  Then they away do to insurance issues, darn it!

Every question and answer on a gun forum

That's funny as shit!! [laugh] [laugh] I love the part about glocktalk and AR15.com!! Sounds like what I used to tell my friends about Y2K when they asked me if I was stocking up on gas, water, food, guns/ammo, generators, etc. I said no, if I needed something I'd just come over to their house and take all their shit! [laugh]
I plan to list the Federal Gov't. as a dependent on my next 1040 tax filing!

I have flying honey badgers and I'm not afraid to use them!

The fact that flame throwers exist is proof that someone somewhere said "I'd sure like to set those people over there on fire but I'm just not close enough to get the job done."

CONFIDENCE: the feeling you have right before you understand the situation.

No bowling pins just steel. Pins never did anything bad enough to me to make me want to shoot them. [laugh] Does look like a hell of a lot of fun. [thumbsup]

.45 FMJ and some XM193.  Getting the .45 just for "plinking", and the 5.56 for plinking and hoarding.   :D

[evil]

But seriously, what's wrong with Beta-mags and brand new multi-cam?

[laugh]

fastwin

Beta-mags are the shit. But they are hard on class III barrels. You just don't want to let off the trigger! [laugh]

Second Chance!!!  My wife and I shot that for 9 years!  We probably know each other.  There was nothing like Second Chance and there will never be again.  What an awesome, awesome shoot!

Tried three different loads in the SR9c tonight.

Im kind of making this up as I go as I couldn't find my exact bullet and powder combo.

Not to mention the OAL had to change from what I found on the net (9mm = 1.169 max)  I would be crimping in the grease groove if I set it up like that.  Bullseye website wanted OAL at 1.125 (and a Hornady load book I have wan'ts 1.040"!!)

I ended up at 1.100" and felt ok trying that as I'm way on the low side with the powder charge.  I was reasonably sure I'd go home with all my fingers.

I tried 10 rounds, 3 different charges with the same oal.

115gr LRN at 1.100 oal, bullseye powder

3.6gr, 3.8gr and 4.0gr.

3.8 and 4.0 worked fine.  3.6 would not rack the slide enough to eject the spent case.  It would always fail to open up enough and then stove pipe the spent round.

Even though 3.8gr worked ok, I think Im going to go with 4.0 to ensure the gun will cycle correctly.  Even 4.0 grains is like the extreme low.  My range wants 850fps or less and Im probably over that.  I did check the plate backstop tonight and there wasn't any damage so I think I'm good to go.

[thumbsup]

Time to get loadin'

My New Years' resolution is to shoot more and ride more. How simple is that? [thumbsup] [moto] [bacon] That's a good start to 2011. ;D

And actually be able to afford all of it.  :D

tcspeedfreak

ive been rolling this around in my head for a few months now and i just wanna see what you guys have to say.

on the one hand i can buy an ar15.  or on the other i can buy a mini 14 at less cost for the rifle and with about the same amount of money i can accessorize it to look like an ar15 or however i want.

is there really any advantages either way?

all i really want it for is to plink at the range, maybe hunt it a little, and basically something to unload quite a few rounds off with a big bang, lighter recoil, and relativly inexpensive to shoot compaired to my other rifles.

input please.
just another fool playing with boats and bikes

I'll stick my $.02 in - The Mini-14 is a robust, reliable and relatively inexpensive firearm with a great deal of accessories available.  The only downside I can come up with for the Mini is that they are "typically" not as accurate as a properly set up AR.  If you like them, they will work - there are things that can be done to help the accuracy issues.  As long as the equipment is adequate for what you want to do, and reliable, the operator is far more important.
