I hadn't even seen that upper yet, wow.  Talk about proprietary mags -- the PS90 mags always crack me up.

It's interesting if it's a pistol or SBR, but in a long barrel?  Anything over 10 inches and you're going to get projectile drag.  All of those 5.7 rounds are fast burning powders.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

Also think of resale. You won't get shit for a DPMS Pos, but if you were selling a Colt, Les Baer, etc. you would get some
of your money back.

Maybe the markets are different where you are at, but here if I put together an AR for $550, I'm not going to have much trouble selling it for $500 a year later, and if I looked around I could probably get the whole $550 back.

The Les Baer stuff is gorgeous, almost picked up one myself, but decided to build an AR instead. Once you get a good barrel, trigger and free floating forearm, the accuracy is pretty much taken care of, and the rest of the bits can be cheaper stuff.

CZ 70's are a bit cheaper right now.

Also, you might consider a 9mm. The price of 32/7.65 and 9mm are pretty much the same.

7.62x25 is not .32, the CZ-52 shoots Tokarev (7.62) ammo.

I can find it as cheap as 7c/rd plus ship, whereas 9mm runs 16c/rd plus ship (in quantity)

I can't stand the CZ52, it's like shooting a zipgun.

I've talked to a couple of smiths about cutting a barrel and modifying a magazine for a Glock 21.  The problem with the Tokarev round is that it is so LONG, it won't fit into a 9mm frame at all, almost 5mm longer.

The only other option I can think of would be to convert a 5.7x28 pistol, but I wonder if there would be a thick enough barrel without modifying the slide... :-/

Shame, all that cheap cheap ammo.

My mistake...

I do think the 70 is a better pistol

it's about 30 years newer design and made for the commercial market, so i'd have to agree.  but totally different question.

i wouldn't bother with a .32 unless it's a superduper compact like the old keltec p32, i.e. 6oz unloaded.  it's not an effective round in general.

Took the 1911 shooting yesterday and it liked the Russian Tula brand ammo well enough. May buy a bunch of that for the .45 just for range shooting. I was a bit concerned as I'd heard whispers here and there of it being shoddy, and people finding squibs in it, but it worked well enough for me.

And amen to needing a .22 something-or-another...

Used to shoot a Makarov a lot, but 9x18 has gotten just about as expensive as anything else. :-\

Considering picking up a CZ-52 and using it as my range plinking pistol, given how cheap 7.62x25 is (right now).

I recently ordered a tokorev upper for my AR.  7.62x25 ammo is running around 7-9 c per round these days.  It isn't as powerful as 5.56 or 7.62x39, but it hits very hard out of a 10" barrel (AR pistol).

The kit runs about $1000 for the upper, mag well adapter and converted magazines.  They have a very good rep, and I need something to shoot all this Tok ammo I bought.

It would be awesome if someone could make a Glock conversion for tok ammo.

Gramps, you forgot this one, which is what prompted the talk of 7.62x25..

But I'll fergiv ya

With all due respect to all our folks in the military, my brother told me yesterday (when he told me about the shooting of the Congresswoman in AZ) that the nut case at Ft. Hood that shot all those soldiers last year fired like 140 rounds from his FN 5.7 pistol. Is that true? Holy shit, how many magazines did that idiot have with him? Thank God he did not hit and injure/kill more than he did. I had no idea he expended that many rounds. Too bad that women security officer didn't ventilate his sorry ass better than she did. Much like the nut case in AZ. [bang] Both should be pushing up daisys.
