Modified short-stroke piston AR chambered for Tokarev ammo.

Watch the whole video, but the fun part starts when he uses his custom loads (200gr subsonics!!!) at 2:00 with a can.

Very nice!!  I wonder what the terminal energy of those sub rounds would be...   [evil]

I can't believe how quiet that was

good question, but hard to do.  200 gr projectiles and how much powder...  he doesn't post the muzzle velocity, which you can use to calculate the energy at the muzzle...

But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

Exactly.  Still though, one could pull of some serious back porch shenanigans with that thing...  ;)

Back porch shenanigans. . .

ML approves of this term [thumbsup]

I'm almost tempted to explore copying that setup just so I can shoot a rifle and only hear the bolt clicking [laugh]

^  Try to get your hands on an MP5SD.  Run some 147gr subsonic rounds through though and you'll  :o  ;D  [evil]

I've got a MP5 with a three lug barrel. I have thought many times of going through the hassle and expense to get a can. The rare moment of common sense and the constant temptation of DRKWNG's "back porch shenanigans" have kept me from it. ;D I'd rather have a "muffled" 10/22 Ruger for those hi-jinks. I have friends that have silenced .22s and they are unbelievably fun! Same thing... tic, tic, tic of the bolt and then ding, ding, ding off the steel target. Damn cheap to shoot too. Aguila sub sonic .22 ammo is awesome in those guns.

If any of you go to Finland, you can buy cans over the counter in any hunting store.  They consider it a normal part of shooting.  Why wear ear plugs and annoy your neighbors when you can buy a $30-50 piece of hardware and make everyone happy?

The Finns don't take shit off of anyone. Ask the Russians. The Winter War between Finland and Russia began Nov. 30, 1939 and ended in mutual truce on March 12, 1940. The Russians took one hell of a beating. They lost 25% of their air force, hundreds of thousands of causalities and wounded and probably regretted ever picking on the Finns. I can see them thinking silencers are no big deal. They like to shoot. [popcorn]

There was a great article that someone posted I think on the Gun Pic thread (maybe???) about a Finnish sniper in that war that just kicked ass on the Russians. Anyone remember that story? If anyone finds it re-post it here please. It's a good one!

Try again. The SD has a big, non removeable can. It is non removeable, right? I think it is. I've only shot MP5s with cans on 3 lug barrels. HK94s are the normal, 16" barrel, semi auto version of the MP5s.
