I might as well ask you all about my scope that's wacked. . .

I have a 6x Bushnell sportsman scope on my .22 Marlin bolt rifle.  I bought it for like $40 at a gun show 15 years ago at least.

It's always been good, and the gun has been pretty accurate with it.

Recently I noticed that I had trouble focusing on the target and the cross hairs at the same time.  The horizontal cross hair is out of focus (the vertical one is fine)

At first I thought it was me needing to get my eyes looked at (its been a while and I'm sure they'll want me to start wearing glasses for distance) but my dad gave it a look and he confirmed it to be off.

Bushnell wants me to send this thing in for repair at unknown cost.  Should I bother or just buy something else?

why are centerfire optics more than rimfire?  Shock resistance?

Looks like I can get something nice for under a hundred bucks.

I think that's it.

There are several nice ones for under a hundred.

It is only a 22 though, and that BSA scope for 20 bucks works just fine.

If it's a bolt action you may have trouble removing the bolt.

When I bought my 22 it has a scope on it and I bought the small BSA specifically to remedy the problem of not being able to remove the bolt.

Higher rings would solve that, but IMO 22's look stupid with a giant scope. You're only shooting 100'. :P
