Warren, what are your thoughts on the Dillon 550 vs 650?

Im looking in the Blue Press book i got the other day and they seem pretty simiar. I like the auto case feed option.

bah!  try clays with 22 shotshells!
I don't think those things would touch a clay past 10 ft... [laugh]

I broke a couple skeet targets from station 1 with a 45 auto and shot cartridges.  Ballistic Products has some real cool wads and data for the small gauges.  They have a spreader/brush wad and some for heavier than standard loads for the 28 ga that I really like.  They also have a round ball wad and load that uses a .490 round ball in the 28 that is amazingly accurate for what it is.  (hit a coffee can at 50+ yards with a vent rib and bead sight)

The 550 is a good machine.  It will handle rifle or pistol, but from what I remember, they are a manually indexing unit.  Not a real big deal, but not quite as fast as a 650.  The upside is they are way less complex and far easier to change calibers on.  You give up a bit of raw speed but gain a bunch of versatility.

Yep. That's how they're different. They still claim 500-600 rounds an hour with the 550

I was just watching some vids of the Dillon loaders. I like the 650 better i think.

I ran across this as well. Thought it was neat. Watch the bolt bounce on the rifle.

Ahhhh : Poetry in motion........You can really tell why the 911 is either working well or jammin.  Close timing!
I can't tell if that is a ramped barrell?

The pistol was pretty scary, they had half the locking lug recess cut away in the top of the slide to show lockup.

That for some reason is something that I could never do well, shoot a two side.  The 686 I know well in 12Ga.  I like small bores, makes it fun.  My 42 has a full chock and I load my own, I got 1/2 oz of no. 8's  doing 1500 FPS.  It sometimes seperates the brase from the case though.

My bird guns are Winchester 101s and 23s, two each in 12 and 20. I love shooting the side by sides. They're fun in an old school kind of way. But I'm better with the o/u 101s. I ended up with my Dad's prestine Win 42 when he passed away. It's damn fun too. My brother is a Zen master with a .410! I had a 101 and a 23 in .410 but I sold them to him a while back. He was much more deserving of them. I just looked plain bad when I dove hunted with them. :P
I plan to list the Federal Gov't. as a dependent on my next 1040 tax filing!

I have flying honey badgers and I'm not afraid to use them!

The fact that flame throwers exist is proof that someone somewhere said "I'd sure like to set those people over there on fire but I'm just not close enough to get the job done."

CONFIDENCE: the feeling you have right before you understand the situation.

The difference between 410 and 28 ga is astounding.  You really have to have your poop in one sock shooting a 410 but a 28 ga lets you be almost as sloppy as you can be with a 12.  I have a lot of respect for anyone that can hit consistantly with the 410.

Yep, Thats what a .410 will do.  Either a hit or a miss, but you should have taken his head off at that range.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

Picked this up today.  Was actually looking for a Glock 17, but came across this instead.  Have never owned a Ruger before or a 9mm.  This just felt really good and I really couldn't find anything I didn't like about it and the price was good I thought.
