The Mad King Pepe'

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me--and there was no one left to speak for me.

He/she does not state what That is a bit high even with the low mileage it has, at $16K could be a very good price there have been good examples that are newer for less http://www.mvagusta.net/. I see that their forum is like ours, prices get driven down because people get desparate. But anyway not for me I like bikes I can actually ride on a frequent basis. - Gene

2249 miles, AND it's a 20005!!!
And the sugar fountain fairy swore so hard when she came to super-size that stale hope soybean; liiiike a homeless German woman. Who is this super-sizing spirit-crushing femme? And tell her I'll break a tree root up in her shrimp.

Being faster than you thought possible…it feels good. No, screw thatâ€"it feels like shotgunning a gallon of adrenaline and chasing it with an all-night orgy aboard a burning Viking boat.

I'm working some other leads. BTW, would you guys buy a bike without actually seeing it in person? I have a lead on a 749 and everything looks legit, but I can't bring myself to close the deal...

I have, but it was through a dealer that sold it through eBay.

Where is the bike, how much, any other details?

I bought both of my current bikes without seeing them in person.  Granted, the KTM was new and from a dealer, but I got the SC from the previous (original) owner who was in Michigan.  He and I communicated for quite a while before I pulled the trigger, which gave me plenty of chances to feel the deal out and make sure it was all good to go.  Where is the 749 located?  You might be able to get a fellow board member to check it out for you.

I've bought all 3 of my bikes without in person look overs. Like Ben there was lots of communication, photos and the chance to feel out the sellers. So far I'm 3 for 3 on good buys.

Trust your gut - if something doesnt feel right pay heed to that feeling an eve ready to walk away. There's always another bike. You're not after a collectors items

2006 749 dark. 3k miles. Asking $6400. Bike is in NJ. Seller seems pretty straight up, but I prefer to close the deal in person or through a trusted emissary. I won't be able to go there anytime soon, so if anyone on this forum is heading up that way and can check it out, please pm me. Thanks for the advice, everyone!

I bought the daytona from a kid in the middle of Pennsylvania without ever seeing it...only a couple of pictures. I figured worse case scenario, I take a day trip to PA and walk away from a bike. Turned out great.

+1 a coworker who's been lazily looking just sent me that link. Was wondering if there was an additional intel floating around

http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/doc/mcy/3131564084.html

Been chatting with the owner for a hot second about the bike.  It looks like it's in great condition based on the pics but I haven't seen it in person.  Via email he's confirmed that he's the second owner and the first bought it from Battley's (?) but he can't verify.  With just over 7,600K miles the one thing that concerns me is the service history.  He purchased in October and has only records for the most recent service completed, oil change in May.  It didn't get the 6K service and is now due for 7,500 mile service and new tires although he believes the ones currently on will last this season.

Is it worth $7k though.  With more than $2K in aftermarket parts I get the sense that he's not willing to drop the price that much.
