really. make the beast with two backsing. sweet.

taste kind of plummy.

or pruney.

whatever it's just make the beast with two backsing sweet, but not in a white wine sorta way... it's chewy sweet, if that makes sense.

as opposed to a crunchy sweet?

did you get to sample any??

of course I did. we were buying for the holiday season ^_^

if we had more time (and I wasn't driving! boo) I'd have crawled end-to-end on the two big italian tables... OMFG was there some fantastic old vine stuff.  do the italians bother using that term? I think it's just us.  anyway.

most of the shopping was for pinot noir, cab, and "unusual argentinian/chilean reds."

noticed alot of the california cabs they were showing were more fresh, fruity ones. not so much my style, since I like big oak and more structure if I'm spending $40+ on a bottle. I hope that's not a trend. although, I suppose that's why I see myself tending more toward the old world. meh.

also tasted this fan-make the beast with two backsing-TASTIC! french syrah... but the name escapes me. started w/an L  ;D

in my best estimation, we did about 1/4 of the room.... needless to say, my palate was well shot by the end

or golden raisony... some of the aged ones have hints of oak sweetness to them. very syrupy mouthfeel, too.

good pairing for a dessert, or maybe a cheese course.  dark chocolates are nice since the bitterness will offset the uber-sweet.

i think i'll have mexican beer tonight - pacifico

let's see if my tolerance has dropped since the last time i drank (sat i put down 6 beers, 3 of them just over 6%) and was mildy buzzed.

You expect Pacifico to be the answer to that problem?  [roll]
