Just found this image of the clay body mockup

and this photoshop (I believe) of the same clay mockup

which I found on my local dealers website: http://www.ducati-motorcycle-parts.com/Ducati-Vyper-parts-and-accessories.aspx

I had been contemplating between the HD NightRod or Ducati Streetfighter as a second bike but I have now added this as a possible third choice.

I will make up my mind when I go for the test ride. This might be the best Ducati to use in Florida.

I am 31 years old, so not a boomer.  My first bike was a new m750 in 2002.  I am now riding a 2004 s4r (which I love).  I have always liked the V-Max look and idea.  A sport cruiser would be a great addition to the Ducati line and when I see the spy photos of this concept from Ducati the first thing that pops to mind is a V-Max with potential.  It would make a very comfortable 2-up ride by the looks of it.

I dont understand the hate on it.  It looks different, yes, but that does not mean it is bad or ugly.  I could definitely see getting it, making a few mods (headlight, exhaust, mirrors, etc..) any of this sound familiar?  Most people on here do the same thing.  Try to find a bone stock monster.

Yeah, it seems many judge it as if its a bike they will be FORCED to buy and ride.  I wonder if these people always complain about everything else, too.   Roll Eyes

the exhaust can be changed, but that swoopy, melted line from the droopy headlight back to the bars would be harder.

different headlight and short, flat, drag bars further forward and lower and maybe...just maybe...I wouldn't hate it.

I would need to see the final products fit and finish for me to determine or not if I like it. I am on the fence right now about it. It has potential like all the other Ducati's we seem to hate till we get our grubby mod hands on them  Grin

It does look like I can ride that all day long and my arse would not be killing me plus it seems to be on the lower side so I wont be tip toeing the bike like I do on most Motorcycles.

Anyone have a guess on the final dry weight on this thing  Huh?

Australian Motorcycle News had quite a good photo with "inside information" in their latest edition.

Australian Motorcycle News reported that it has a trellis frame "insiders revealing it will dramatically undercut weight expectations", "appearance of a sport cruiser with the performance of a superbike", "uses a similar engine to the 11 deg 1200 Multi", "Traction control", "ABS", "triangular profile 240 section tyre, meaning decent handling to get the look right without compromising the handling". I noticed it has twin side radiators which the cowlings from the earlier spy photos and mock ups should (hopefully) hide.

With their history, Ducati is the prime candidate for making a relatively light, good handling power cruiser.
I like it.

+1 on more I see the more I like.  With some different bars and headlight mods (like stated above) and so custom paint (going by the 'vyper' photo) it could be a slick cruiser.  A dark version would be wise on Ducati's part, imho.  I would buy one, assuming the handling is good and the weight isn't rediculous (not that I'll be able to afford it).

Wanna start a pool on MSRP?  My guess is $19,500.
