Fiamm Freeway Blaster Horn - Low tone 72112

Installed one of these today in my 696.  Single horn (5A), low tone.  No relay.  Stock horn harness connectors clipped right on.  Needed to relocate the bracket to the empty oil cooler space but it fits under the cover/cowl fine.  Sorry, I forgot to take pics during the install but its really very easy.

A lot louder than the stock horn and nice low tone.  No more "meep meep".

From what Ive read the Stebel Nautilus is significantly louder but will require installing a relay (not plug-n-play).

Love my Stebel Nautilus. You must install it properly (angle of horn, and relay). But it will wake the dead if you do.

For the Stebel Nautilus, did you use one of the wiring harness kits ("deluxe" or "plug n play") or wire it yourself?  Wondering if the $20 is worth the hassle...

how's is one supposed to know if a relay is necessary?  relays are cheap, but a plug n play horn is so much easier w/o changing out the relay.

Depends on the current drawn by the horn.  Stock horn button and wiring should be able to handle upto 5A.  Stebel Nautilus draws 18A, relay required.

Thank you theprocess.  That's exactly the definitive answer that I was looking for.  According to Fiamm, the Freeway Blaster uses 10A and it is suggested that I use a 10A in-line fuse when I wire it up.  I've read that others just do the plug n play.  While that may work, it probably isn't a good idea to forego the relay.  So now I just have to run out and get me some wiring accessories and wire according to the relay instructions.  I'll post up install pictures later...
