so, if a gallon equals almost 8.5 pounds, then 5 gallons is just about 45 pounds.

now, enough with the easy math. someone tell me how much a 5 gallon bucket (joint compound type if it matters to you) filled with crushed plaster (no lathe...that went straight out the window) tips the scale at.

now multiply that amount (5 gallon bucket x how heavy it is) by 16
i am curious how many lbs of plaster i lugged down stairs today.

in my simple math world i figure that the dry plaster has a similar weight to the wet joint compound (see above regarding 5 gallon joint compound buckets,) so 16x45= 720#

yeah, i know, not that big a deal...but this was the smallest of three rooms that i have done this to in the last 3 weeks.

That's a lot of calculations to do just to figure out you're out of shape

Meh... gallons... pounds... ouzos... pebbles... foot/pounds.... stones....  Why worry?  Since none of those units make any sense, just keep carrying until you're absolutely buggered, then carry + one more and you can create a new measurment called the Hermia. Be just as logical as any other imperial measurement  .    

Oh and in case you need to convert into metric, 1 Hermia x your own weight / 2.75 = 1.0 Killer-gram

My guess is that you are weaker than you think you are as the dry stuff is probably lighter being less dense.
So each bucket only weighed 2.5 lbs and you are way out of shape.
