Cant say I would be willing to risk going over that low. Now, I know you can get a knee down while going VERY slow around a corner. Maybe thats what you're all talking about.
but if you're actually moving at a race-pace on the street....
....too many variables. Sketchy paving, cinders you cant adjust for at that speed....to each his own

I can lean real good but so far only drag my boot sliders.
I don't know if being 6'5", 245, makes it harder to drag a knee.
After 2 bad crashes I've slowed down a bit.
I seem to be able to go around corners as fast as I want !
I just hang off and kiss that inside hand and lead w, my belly.
What other need is there on the street for Knee draggin' ?
Dolph
It's just a feeler for lean angle. I never drag a knee on the street, as I'm a pretty conservative street rider.
Dragging a knee is weird though. I just recently got to where I can do it regurlarly on the track...and it's easier in right hand corners for me...I'm more comfortable in rights for whatever reason.
Interestingly, I've passed people on the outside of corners before...they had a knee down, and I didn't. Some people can hang off like a monkey to touch their knee. I think being taller helps as well, as your legs are longer.
I just focus on trying to improve my body position and smoothness. Speed...and the knee down...come by themselves.

Can you drag a Knee without sliding your ass off the seat ?
Can it be done w, just a lean or just hanging off ?

Sure, the only problem is you will probably end up dragging hip, shoulder, helmet, and any other assortment of parts you didn't intend to while you roll to a stop.

Not without hanging off. You really do need to ensure proper body positioning to do so. It's a recipe for disaster to try to drag a knee without being properly positioned. Unless, of course, you're Kevin Schwantz; then you could use the proper body positioning textbook to wipe your ass.

Some have better flexibility and like to hang off more. I was about three seconds a lap faster than this other guy and my knee wasn't touching.
