How many '08 S4Rs models left?

As you will see from my signature below, I own an '08 S4Rs Tricolore.  The bike is marked as 269 of 400. Supposedly only 400 of this model were imported and sold in the US, or maybe it was North America.

Returning from an early Sunday morning breakfast ride, I wondered how many of the 400 are still on the road. I would be surprised if Ducati knows, but the membership of this forum may have some anecdotal information about the number of these bikes that have been lost to the usual causes of attrition, wrecks and theft for parts, etc.

If you know of any of the 400 that are actually gone, post a message and tell me about it.  And how many do you think are left after two years, 350. 375. 395

My guess is that there are some in garages that are not being riden. And most likely only 10 to 20 that are out of service. Ever now and then 1 shows up on e-bay with next to no miles. I think people are trying to use them as an investment.

Yeah he has two S4Rs' in pearl white, not the tricolore.  Not sure if he still has both.
I can't remember what else he bought.

used to work in a shop, I can tell you that at very minimum there are only 399

some guy nailed a deer and basically ripped his in half

398 one was totalled in Southern Indiana last summer.  Who knows how many more...

I'm still riding mine (#13) in NYC. I saw one in CT last week being serviced.

I had 2 , '07 Pearl White, S4Rss.

The one I stored and never rode , I sold.

The one I rode , I totalled in my near fatal crash of Nov. '09.

Yes Richard I've got one but over here in the UK they were never numbered as a limited edition, I bought mine from the shop that I help out at and the shop sold an other and also sevice at least one more that I know of...

One of the nice things about posting on this forum is hearing from old friends. However, I had failed to pick up on what has happened to DoubleEagle and was very unhappy to learn about his serious injuries.  Like you, I pray for a quick and complete recovery.

His accident is a good example of the attrition that our special machines routinely suffer. The bad part is that attrition happens to riders also.

I'm looking forward to hearing from Geoffduc to learn all about his trip to Italy.  Meanwhile, God Bless the Queen!  How's that, Geoff?
