JFF: Dream bike challenge

You have $10,000 to build your dream bike.

Post links to everything you purchase.

Yes, just $10,000.  Install labor is free, but paint, fabrication, engine work (i.e. head, crank, etc) work is not. 

You can buy any bike and customize it, but:

1.  It must be a Ducati.
2.  It can be any year or model.
3.  All parts must be commercially available or custom, but you have to post a link or info about the part(s).
4.  Must be either STREET or TRACK.
5.  Your starting bike should be as close to stock as possible.

the point is to show off what your "bike bucket" list is and what you'd do if you could.

When done -- something that maybe Tazio Nuvolari (remember he was a famous motorcycle racer before becoming Italy's most famous racecar driver) might have ridden for the Scuderia Ferrari in @1935 and if powered by a Ducati racing engine.  Of course after building the first one the second one is easier and faster to build (and will be yellow or Ducati red and with a normal fork on it...)

Goal: to build something very different that is fun/unique and will get magazine coverage (already booked) for under $10K total outlay.

2004 749S Crashed ~$800 thats the buyback price for my friends crashed 749S. Engine has been blueprinted and balanced already, includes Ducabike Slipper clutch and a bunch of other rashed up parts that are still good. But most of it will be sold off to help offset the budget.

This leaves me at $7800 bucks total and $3885 to spend, so it ends up either as Carbon Fiber wheels or a bunch of tires... if we are playing with $10000, that only leaves me with $2200 which in that case, I would use it on trackdays and tires. Carbon Fiber wheels can eat my dust.

If price was no object -- the extra Desmosedichi engine needs a custom chromoly chassis, restyled carbonfiber bodywork and a few other additions... and a slightly difference "stance/attitude adjustment" in my opinion. Can you say "DesmoDevil-sedichi"...  (too bad the engine isn't actually mine)

having a limited budget makes it more interesting because people have to make choices.

depends on how your economic situation looks.

I dont have a lot of money, in fact ive never been as broke as I am today. And owning a ducati doesnt help for sure. which is why i do most of my own things, so i cant justify spending $350 on rizoma levers, when FP racing levers are half the price and function the same. If you have a budget to spend, spend it on something that is worth spending on..suspension, not NCR clutch covers that are over priced

if you want to drop the price down to 5k, then just delete everything i spent on shit i wouldnt buy anyway cause i cant afford it. and stic kwith

I've got a hunch that it would be hard to keep it under $10K, but maybe I could do it by finding the parts cheap enough over a period of time and staying away from the high dollar stuff like the Ohlins shock.
