Not a big fan of Strider. The multiple angle head on the crash axe is subject to failure (imho).

I would take an RMJ Forge Hawk any day.

My first thought as well.  It's still in design stages though.

True. The Ti handle needs some type of wrap to provide a positive grip. When you are trying to crash through a vehicle or an aircraft you are bringing the heat, and you don't want that thing twisting in your grip.

that and you don't want anything with moving parts to become fouled with with bits of glass and molding material

or

levers smaller than what can be manipulated with fire gloves

that strider thing is a novelty

waytogo  It'll make a great paper weight.  Cheesy

On the tactical side of the house, we aren't wearing fire gloves. We still wear gloves , but not as bulky. Which would still be an issue,

Mr. Knife Guy in Chandler received his first shipment of the Mantis Bottlenecks today.

Basically a small butterfly knife with a bottle opener incorporated into the design.

It'll come in very handy when my wife is drinking her "No Retornable" Mexican Coke at America's Taco Shop.  cheeky

Ordering one of these from Darrel Ralph designs..

HTM-DDR Gun Hammer.  Hopefully, it comes without that HTM logo on the blade!

http://www.darrelralph.com/

One of his knives can be seen in The Expendables when Jason Statham beat up that guy on the basketball court. There's also a video of Aerosmith member using his on TV.

BTW..I was watching The Hurt Locker last night and was trying to figure out what knives the main character used.  Huh?

A couple near done - the brown handled one is ground from 1/4" 5160 and clay tempered.  Very rugged and shaving sharp.

The white handled one is forged from 1080 and clay tempered with a nice hamon.  It is scary screaming sharp.  Its going to one of my former junior smallbore shooters as her hunting knife.
