Looks like the 8th hop isn't responding the 2nd time around and might be a bottleneck.

One thing you might try is upping your browsers cache size to store more stuff on your hard drive. This will cache images and style files and (potentially) mean less downloading of stuff when you first hit the DMF.

You can speed things up (I think) by loading the "Forum" page instead of the "Home" page first.

This did the trick for me. Not a single problem for 2 weeks now. Now the DMF loads just as fast as every other site I go to. It's nice not having to surf the DMF at 5 AM for it to load right. Thanks a million.

I suspect the heavily pic laden 'home' page was jamming things up for you.

I've been having this issue lately as well. At my parent's with comcast, on my blackberry with 3g, and at my house with U-verse. Feels almost like a server overcapacity? Maybe the board just hates me?

Our server isn't stressed...trust me.

We all hate you.

Try clearing all cookies and get rid of favorites for the board and see if it gets any better.

You could always do a tracert and see where the hang up is.

Also if you load to the forum page instead of the home page it usually helps.

FWIW, i never go to the home page. i load straight to the unread posts page. never a slow moment.

Last 36 hours DMF has been painfully   s l o w   to load....  like dial-up slow....  I realise my satellite is never gonna be lightening fast, but everywhere else I visit loads up within usual expectations.  As did DMF until just recently.  I can send another donation if you're having trouble paying the bills  .

Is someone else in the house using another computer on the same bandwidth via a wireless router?

Are you on a mac or a PC?

If you're on a PC open up a command prompt and do the following

tracert www.ducatimonsterforum.org

That'll trace the route from you to our servers. Post the results up here and I'll take a look.

If you're on a Mac, the steps are similar

Results should look pretty similar, regardless of whether it's a Mac or PC, and the link above has good description of how to read them.

I never get on this forum because it is always so slow (has been for me every time I've accessed it since it came online!). Today though it is working as it should. It's nice to be able to go from page to page in less than a minute!
