Be sure to keep the torque tool at 90 degrees from the torque wrench (as in the picture), or the torque will not be accurate.  You can use any tool (crowsfoot wrench) that lets you access the nut with your torque wrench, as long as you can have those 90 degree of lever.

thank you . i ll do that. im going to try to find smth similar to that wrench because i think 43 $ is too much to spend for a wrench that im going to use once.... ( i hope)  ;D
is it true that the pistons diameter is 88mm on the 02 M750?

I've used this with good success and it's a lot cheaper. You could probably find it at your local auto parts store.

88mm, yes, Speeddog is right.  M750 engines are 88mm x 61.5mm.

Be very careful with the rings.

A set of rings for one piston is insanely expensive, and the oil rings are very fragile.

im planning on using a piston ring compressor. 1st i want to open up the head see the piston  + rings , that way i know what type of  compressor im going to need to get it done.
what do u exactly mean by saying be careful? when i pull the head out? when i squeeze the piston back in ?

I am afraid we will see another thread "Help!  How do I reassemble my vertical head?!"

Please pick up a shop manual, Haynes makes a very good one for the Ducati 2v.
Check out my oil filter forensics thread!                     Offended? Click here
"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

We promise we won't laugh...too loud.

Just kidding....ask questions first. It's much cheaper. ;)

First of all it's a cylinder base gasket...not a cylinder head gasket.

The dealer is the best place to get it.

You should download the parts breakdown from ducati.com for your bike. It will help you to properly identify the parts.
