So I just switched over to a set of MW no-rise clip ons on my '01 750, and of course ended up with gobs of extra brake line.  I'm looking for an OE set off another Ducati that will fit better, since they're already stainless and I'm not keen on spending for custom lines anyway - I did a little bit of searching, and it looks like lines off of the SS models will work, no?  Any other models to be on the lookout for?  I'm assuming I need something with a single line at the master, and a T-fitting somewhere in-line, right?

I know you siad that you don't want custom lines but when i went from the 1 to 2 split stock line to 2 seperate lines it made a world of difference and eliminated some of my bleeding issues and problems with air being trapped.  just my 2 cents.

+1, especially on a track bike.

I'm running the loop line on my monster as it's "cleaner", but will do the split line for the track toy 2vsbk

you can make your own brake lines. Goodrich ooffers all the parts you need. Just measure and buy. I had separate brake lines on my bike. Made a difference..... front brake was more responsive as I noted in a previous thread.

How much did that run you?

I can't remember but i think it was around $75 a line with fittings.  I had some motor work done last year and the shop said your brakes suck, we recomend different lines, i said yes and i just wrote the check and looked the other way.  #1 racer skill is writting a check and not thinking about it. bacon

Not as bad as I though.  I was seeing regular aftermarket stuff in the $2-300 range, so I figured custom would have cost a premium over that.  The problem I run into is that I'm still buying up the gear I need for myself to ride this thing, and I'd rather not skimp there - So when it comes down to safety vs bling, it's a bit harder just to cut the check and run.

If I wanted to run 2 separate lines from the master down (right?), will my old-skool coffin master move enough fluid to keep things nice and firm?  Considering the overall line length will presumably be a good bit shorter than stock, I'd bet the extra length added by the 2nd line would be negligible, no?

doubt a really nice set up will be more than $200.  I have one where the banjo pivots and costom color etc and it wasn't over $200.  it will make a world of difference and you can't get better safty equipment than properly working brakes imo.  and yes your stock coffin will work fine.  too many people are down on the bulletproof coffins.  take a look at most AMA supermoto set-ups they use them and if there is gonna be a problem those guys are gonna find them.  find a race shop in your area and have them do the lines.  race shops do that all the time and know how to make them or order them correctly with the right fittings.  every major city has a race shop.  dealerships probally will charge you more and keep your bike in the time it takes to order. bacon
