So I am planning my first trip there this year, Im planning on going march 6-12.  For those of you that live in the area, How is the weather that time of year.  Im right outside of chicago so it is hit or miss around here but i figured that it might be at least in the 50's or so.

It can be hit or miss there as well. Could be snowy or in the 50s and sunny, but I'd lean towards cold. I've gone in October and had it be bone chilling. PM The_Journeyman. He lives close by and can provide better info.

I live in the neighborhood. March usually runs a daily low of 25+ to a high of 55-60, but this year it's hard to tell. It's been uncharacteristically frozen and snowy. Lot's of snow/rain forecast over the next few weeks too. It's hard to say.

The only constant is that the temps here are very unpredictable. Anytime from early Nov to late April you can see literally anything from 80 to 18. Hell, it was 50-something here the other day when I went for a ride, woke up the next day and the bike was covered in ice and snow and it was 16 make the beast with two backsing degrees. Couldn't even get in my truck cause the doors were frozen shut. boo

Pretty much Timmy covered it.  March is a gamble for temps and weather.  If the weather is good, it's a great time to ride around here,  but it will get chilly up high so summer weight gear is not a good idea for the area in March.  I'm usually still wearing my winter suit in March ~
