Instead of butting heads with Ferrari and wasting resources on litigation, Ford could easily use

this as a golden marketing opportunity.

Example:  "The all new F150 - the Ferrari of trucks."

Perhaps a commercial showing the Ford F150 doing everything an F1 car cannot?

I think they're missing out on a kickass marketing ploy.....

Maybe the Ford vs Ferrari grudge of the '60s lives on.

"Ferrari has misappropriated the F-150 trademark in naming its new racing vehicle the F150 in order to capitalize on and profit from the substantial goodwill that Ford has developed in the F-150 trademark," said Ford in its complaint to the US District Court in Detroit.

Really Ford??  [roll]

It's 1964 all over again.

I'm SURE Ferrari hasn't forgotten how that all ended up 2 years later...

They should have made it F150ish so that it's similar but not the same.

The ridiculousness of corporate litigation never ceases to amaze. There's a special ring of hell for corporate lawyers...and its called, their work day.

redxblack

I know I'd get a Ford and Ferrari mixed up based on the similar name!
